In mid-November, Enviva, the world’s largest wood pellet producer with headquarters in Bethesda (USA), successfully emerged from restructuring proceedings under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. As part of its financial restructuring, Enviva has equitized more than US-$1 billion of indebtedness. According to Enviva, an additional US-$250 million of new money financing through an Equity Rights Offering helped create a stable financial base which ensures sufficient liquidity. https://lnkd.in/dvPra5R4

The further development of the lumber market and the partly scarce supply of log wood were the dominating topics at the 2024 Wood Congress in Düsseldorf. Together with the congress’s organizer and the German Sawmill and Timber Industry Association (DeSH), the Holzkurier discussed these key topics with ten market participants in front of the camera. Google is set to purchase 1,400 hectares of forests in Finland, and Ikea will buy round 8,080 hectares in Latvia. The planned use of those forests could not be any more different. Google plans to erect buildings on the purchased land, whereas Ikea will use the forests for its raw material supply. https://lnkd.in/d28PZvCY
