**Manchmal stellen sich die unschlagbaren Stärken des #Binnenschiffs als #Transportalternative besonders deutlich heraus - vor allem wenn es in Sachen Planung und Logistik treffsicher eingebunden ist. Wie beim Bau der Linzer Donautalbrücke, wo rund 800.000 Tonnen Aushubmaterial umweltschonend per Schiff zum #Ennshafen (zur Wieder- bzw. **Talking about great success stories on the #danube - as an important part of the project "FAIRway works! in the Rhine-Danube Corridor" (coordinated by #viadonau and co-financed by the Connecting Europe Facility #CEF of the #EU) one of the highlight topics in today's FAIRway Danube Advisory Committee Meeting in Vienna also was the modernisation of the Serbian Iron Gate II lock on the Serbian-Romanian border section. The main works on the construction site began on 18 July 2023 and were already finished after just one year. **On the most international river in the world good cooperation and intensive exchange drive the development of the Danube across national borders. **Flussbauwerke wie Wehre und #Schleusen sind außergewöhnliche und seltene Arbeitswelten. Umso faszinierender sind coole Einblicke, wie sie vor allem umfangreiche Überprüfungen der Anlagen ermöglichen. So auch bei der Wehrrevision in Wien/#Nussdorf! Die Wehranlage im historischen Otto-Wagner-Ambiente rund um die „Löwen-Brücke“ (#Schemerlbrücke) an der Grenze vom 19. zum 20. Wiener Gemeindebezirk wird seit September (und ca. bis Mitte Dezember) auf Herz und Nieren durchgecheckt. 🏗️ Wie baut man eine 150m² große Versuchsrinne für den Wasserbau? (Teil 1) Man nehme: 👉 2 LKW-Ladungen Schalungssteine 👉 2 Betonmischer-Ladungen 👉 Eine Prise Bewehrungsstahl nach statischen Erfordernissen 👉 Etwas Schalung fürs Auge 👉 Ein hochmotiviertes Team von uns und dem Baumeister 👉 Einen 16-Tonnen-Kran mit einem sehr geschickten Kranführer (Danke Peter Stockhammer) 👉 Einen Projektleiter (Danke Martin Hasenhündl), der die Pläne richtig halten kann 😉 Das Ganze lässt man dann fünf Tage in einem Wasserbaulabor seines Vertrauens bei Zimmertemperatur einwirken. 😎 So entsteht der erste große Teil unserer neuen 150m² großen #Versuchsrinne! Diese Rinne wird für einen wasserbaulichen Modellversuch benötigt, bei dem eine eigendynamische Aufweitung der Gail in Kärnten untersucht wird. Es handelt sich um ein Projekt des Landes Kärnten mit Unterstützung vom Bundesministerium für Land- und Forstwirtschaft, Regionen und Wasserwirtschaft und den Kooperationspartnern Universität für Bodenkultur Wien und DonauConsult Ingenieurbüro GmbH. **Den Sedimenttransport in einem Fluss digital simulieren? Das geht! Durch eine Anpassung der Simulationssoftware #HydroAS, um sie z. B. mit einem von der #BOKU speziell dafür entwickelten Softwaremodul koppeln zu können. Genau das war auch eines der Highlight-Themen des diesjährigen HydroAS-Anwendertreffens mit viadonau-Beteiligung Ende September in Nürnberg. Die Software HydroAS wird von den viadonau-Expertinnen und -Experten für #Hydrologie nicht nur eingesetzt, sondern wurde unter maßgeblicher Beteiligung derselben in den letzten Jahren gezielt weiterentwickelt und so für die spezifischen Anforderungen des Unternehmens maßgeschneidert. We are working towards implementing solutions that can help inland ports to cut emissions, increase energy efficiency ⚡and advance digitalisation📲 across European inland ports. 🤝 We thank all stakeholders for their active collaboration on this project.
