LIGHTING WITHOUT LIMITS It all begins with a passion for light. For 30 years, XAL has been working with lighting designers, architects, and planners to develop custom luminaires of the highest technical standard, which impress with their style and aesthetics. There is always one goal: to push the boundaries of the technically feasible, enabling visionary designs. We can meet this challenge because our employees in our design labs, as well as production and sales locations around the world, deliver top performance. Being on-site for our customers is essential for mutual success. Thanks to organisational efficiency and high in-house production depth, we can tailor our response to the needs of our customers and continuously expand our existing product portfolio. Meeting seemingly impossible challenges is our daily motivation and inspiration. From novel concept to luminaire innovation: a path created by crossing borders. SEE THE LIGHT. The aim of the new canteen at Test-Fuchs in Lower Austria was to create an interactive environment with a relaxing atmosphere. The result is a 120-seats space for employees, crowned by a stunning roof inspired by the wings of an airplane and enhanced with FELT acoustic elements. The recycled synthetic fleece absorbs distracting noise, such as clattering tableware or shifting chairs, making it perfect for communicative spaces like a canteen. SONIC luminaire family combines elegant form with maximum functionality. Designed in monochrome, like a modern yin and yang, the luminaire shines in perfect harmony. Ring-shaped absorber elements, paired with variously coloured acoustic shades, create optimum lighting conditions as well as balanced room acoustics. At the newly designed office spaces at XAL’s headquarters in Graz, the large-scale FRACTAL CODE acoustic wall panels contribute to greater well-being. These innovative acoustic wall panels with fractal patterns signify a breakthrough in biophilic design. They are based on the research of Prof. Dr. Richard Taylor (University of Oregon & Fractals Research, USA) and 13&9 Design, who combine design and science in a unique way. Studies have shown that these patterns reduce stress by up to 60 per cent, increase cognitive performance, and promote concentration. Discover a design solution that both enhances rooms aesthetically, while also sustainably improving well-being. In collaboration with Moodne Valgustus, KAMP Architects developed the lighting concept for the EANS Flight Control Centre. The interior design was crafted to reflect the company's core focus: air traffic control and management. While the simplest solution might have been to apply acoustic panels to the ceiling, the architects deliberately chose a more innovative approach. They selected a sculptural lighting and acoustic system: HEX-O. The design of the hexagonal HEX-O luminaires integrates seamlessly into the monochrome black-and-white interior.
