The study of 26,000 participants showed that after just two hours of continuous desk work, mental-health scores began to drop and stress increased. It got worse after four hours of sitting solidly at a desk, with workers' stress levels rising by 18%. But there's an easy solution: the ASICS team say that just 15 minutes of exercise a day is all you need to offset some of that desk-bound damage. 𝐅𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟓 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡! 🎉 The article covers the idea that you can boost your fitness, energy, sleep, and mood – without hours in the gym. "In this study we showed that as little as 15 minutes of physical activity per day can make a big difference when it comes to people's health and wellbeing. And while the program only required 15 minutes of activity, most people tended to do more." "Ultimately, the 15-minutes is a catalyst for increased physical activity, with many participants ending up exceeding the minimum goal and moving closer to or surpassing national recommendations," says Dr Singh. https://lnkd.in/dpFJSKZq #workplacewellbeing #employeewellbeing #exercise #employeeengagement

𝟏𝟓 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 We’re excited to share some great news: the 15 Minute Challenge has been scientifically proven to improve health and wellbeing. 🎓 In collaboration with the University of South Australia, our team worked closely with Dr Ben Singh, Professor Carol Maher, and Dr Ty Ferguson to conduct a large-scale study involving 11,575 participants. The findings, which were recently published in a peer-reviewed Healthcare MDPI journal, provide concrete evidence of the program’s effectiveness. Here’s what the study showed: • 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲: Before the challenge, 42.7% of participants weren’t meeting international physical activity guidelines. During the 6-week challenge, an impressive 95% met or exceeded those guidelines. 🏃♂️ • 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝: Participants experienced significant improvements in fitness (14%), energy levels (11.6%), overall health (7.7%), sleep quality (7.6%), and mood (7.1%). 🧠 • 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬: 92% of participants said they would recommend the program, with the vast majority eager to participate again. 🎉 These results mark a significant milestone for the 15 Minute Challenge. They not only confirm that the program leads to substantial improvements in health but also inspire our team to set even bigger goals, helping more people build healthier habits. Celebrating 3 Years of Partnership with QUT 🎉 It's hard to believe how time flies! We can recall getting on a flight and meeting with the Queensland University of Technology back in October 2017 to have a brief discussion about how we could possibly help with staff wellbeing. ✈️ What started with a casual coffee resulted in a great long-term partnership. For the past three years, we’ve had the great pleasure of working with QUT, helping thousands of staff with their wellbeing. Their dedication to promoting wellness among staff and students has been very inspiring. 🌟 In our interview, QUT highlighted the importance of research-backed initiatives: "Being a University, it really does come under the microscope in a way that we make sure that we do things that are evidenced and have that rigour in terms of research background, so we liked to align with the 15 Minute Challenge for that and a whole other reasons." A big thank you to QUT for their commitment to health and wellbeing. We look forward to many more years of collaboration and success together. 💪 You never know where a simple meeting over a cup of coffee can lead. #QUT #staffwellbeing #wellnessinitiatives #universitycollaboration #healthandwellbeing #partnershipanniversary #researchbackedinitiatives #15minutechallenge #wellnessinspiration #successandcollaboration
