概要
At ASICS, we believe in the positive benefits of movement for both mind and body. Driven by research and applying human-centric design, we make and sell footwear, apparel and equipment for the lifetime athlete in all of us. Our founder Kihachiro Onitsuka began making athletic shoes in 1949 with the goal of developing society through sports. He later named the company ASICS, which stands for Anima Sana In Corpore Sano, or A Sound Mind In A Sound Body. This speaks to our desire for people everywhere to live healthy lives both mentally and physically. Today, ASICS is a global company with a head office in Kobe, Japan and operations in more than 30 countries. As well as products for running, tennis and other core performance sports, we also offer the SportStyle range, the Onitsuka Tiger brand, fitness-tracking app Runkeeper, and our membership program OneASICS. Follow us on LinkedIn and together let’s celebrate the uplifting power of movement.

What does a company sports day look like at a sports company? See what happened when #TeamASICS gathered for our 2024 Sports Festival in Kobe and Tokyo. This year’s theme was “fun for all”. After some warm-up exercises, the fun got started with the Ball Rolling Race. We love trying out new sports, and this year’s event included exhibitions of para sports Takkyu Volley and Boccia. The Obstacle Relay included a program in which a blind runner teamed up with a guide runner, or a pair of runners had to carry a stack of ASICS shoe boxes. One person joining for the first time was Chaoran, who is on secondment to ASICS HQ from ASICS North America. He said: “This is one of the best company-wide events I have ever attended. It was awesome to see everyone jumping in and enjoying the moments! It's more than a day of fun, it’s teamwork and good vibes! I was also very impressed by how the event was well organized with so many employee engagements. So we can just relax and enjoy the day!” Sports day is not about winning. It’s an event designed to foster engagement, unity and communication – all the things that make coming to work feel great.

This achievement is about every single one of you. Big or small, first-timers or marathon veterans, every step you took played a part in putting Sydney on the world stage. Your stories – the triumphs, the struggles, the grit, and the spirit – have shown the world what it means to be a runner in Sydney. And today, we celebrate YOU for this accomplishment. Together, we have forged a new chapter in Australian sports history. As the world watches, they’ll see what we already know: that our marathon is more than a race; it’s a movement built by the dedication and passion of a community that believes in each other and inspires the next generation to take their first steps. To every runner, volunteer, cheer squad, and supporter – thank you for bringing us here. Thank you for your strength, your stories, and your support. For our latest sneaker, we dove into our own bins ♻️ The ASICS SportStyle NEOCURVE™ is crafted from a blend of discarded, unused, and newly reclaimed materials: grinded-up footwear, deadstock, and defective shoes. In essence, ASICS dove into their own bins to find forgotten treasures—transforming what was once considered waste and unusable into a valuable resource. A striking wave design, metallic finishes, and a color palette reminiscent of early 2000s techwear give the NEOCURVE™ its distinctive look. It’s a shoe designed to encourage future recycling and promote the process of product circularity, with every step from collection and disassembly to design and manufacturing, taking place within Europe. The NEOCURVE™ is a sneaker that champions circularity, without sacrificing design or performance. #ASICSSportStyle #Circularity #SoundEarth

Our #SoundMindSoundBody philosophy gives equal weight to physical and mental health. But how do we practice that in our own workplace? At ASICS, we have a number of internal programs to promote well-being, from helping employees cope better with stress to reminding them of the benefits of regular exercise. (Yes, even employees of a sports company sometimes need a reminder.) Every year, we survey ASICS employees and compare their scores for health literacy – a key component of well-being – with their own evaluation of their performance at work. For our 2024 Well-being Report, we surveyed 1,093 employees. The results were telling: - Among those with high health literacy scores, 81.3% said they could perform at or near their peak most of the time. - Among those with low health literacy scores, just 63.6% said they could perform at or near their peak most of the time. Promoting well-being is not just good philosophy. It’s also good for business. Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/gNNWbvXh #TeamASICS #SoundMindSoundBody

Who’s this on serve? Follow Mitsuyuki Tominaga for an executive take on ASICS. Starting today.
Many of my LinkedIn followers will know that I joined ASICS in 2018, initially to lead our digital transformation. In January 2024, I assumed the role of President & COO. One of my most important tasks, I believe, is to communicate the incredible work being done on all levels to transform ASICS from a famous Japanese sports brand into a globally integrated, digital-led company. Starting today, I’ll be using LinkedIn to do just that. Looking back over my career to date, I realize that all the signs have been leading me in this direction. Like ASICS, I’m a Kobe native who went out into the world but never lost touch with my Japanese roots and my love of sports. Truly, this is where I belong.
