We are proud to support the work of ReachOut Australia to provide online mental health support to young Australians and their carers. Since 2019 7-Eleven has donated more than $1.9 million to ReachOut Australia through the Good Cause Program and other community fundraising initiatives like Make A Move and Laps for Life. Through our direct support, fundraising and other activities we have supported ReachOut to deliver: •1,100 mental health support sessions with trained peer workers through the new PeerChat program •A redesign of the ReachOut parents service to better serve and help parents and carers •Conduct user research to gain insights into young people’s perspectives on personalisation, privacy and security •Establish an Ethics Data Framework, and complete pilot experiments to prove the value of content personalisations within a mental health service Thank you to the ReachOut team for all of your work to support young people in our neighbourhoods in 2024.

Last week our friends at The Salvation Army Project 614 Melbourne picked up a van load of groceries and other essentials for people doing it tough thanks to our Product team. It has been another difficult year, particularly for those already experiencing hardship. To date The Salvation Army across Australia has experienced a sharp increase in demand across its services and they are anticipating even greater demand over Christmas. Major Brendan Nottle, The Salvation Army Australia Project 614 Commanding Officer said: “Being able to provide access to essential food and grocery items as well as some treats gives people in need not only support to get through what is a very challenging time for many, but also the understanding that they are being seen and cared about by others. This is critically important in helping find a new beginning.” Our Product team have been working hard on extending our product range, particularly in food and grocery, as part our ambition to be My Convenient Neighbourhood Store - providing the right range of products, at the right price, when and where our customers want them. They test and try new products, new ranges, and see how they fit into our layouts using real product samples. Inevitably, this means we end up with products we need to find use for. 7-Eleven CEO and Managing Director, Fiona Hayes said: “by working with The Salvation Army to redirect any leftover samples or excess stock we are able to support their work to give people some joy and comfort this Christmas. A huge thanks to our Product team for making this donation possible, and to The Salvation Army for all their work to support the neighbourhoods we serve.”

Congratulations to everyone in our team and from our supplier partners who were involved in giving our Tarneit North in Melbourne’s western suburbs a new look and a new range. Tarneit North is our first store to pilot our Retailer Initiative, which is our store-based approach to selecting, forecasting and merchandising the right products, at the right time, in the right quantity to meet the needs of local neighbourhoods. The store has an expanded range with approximately 2,900 products, including products suited to the local demographics. The store is also offering our customers bake-in-store pastries, chicken, chips and burgers alongside our well known and loved food on the go offerings. Pizza by the slice to be added at the end of January. We are working with our supplier partners to provide our customers with more reasons to shop with us throughout the day for more needs and occasions as we work to achieve our ambition to be my convenient neighbourhood store for every Australian.

It is important that all of us feel comfortable and safe to be ourselves at work and know we belong. Our Out and Proud Employee Network (OPEN) is a group of LGBTQIA+ team members and allies. OPEN supports the professional growth and mentoring of its members and helps us ensure we are creating a welcoming and inclusive workplace for everyone. Our OPEN group recently celebrated OPEN’s third birthday enjoying some trivia and time together. Thank you to our OPEN committee, members and allies for all of your efforts in 2024.

Our team, like most Australians, love our coffee. So we are really excited to partner with our friends at Mars to launch new Snickers Coffee, which is exclusive to 7-Eleven in December. Our team were lucky enough to get the chance to try it first – a perfect #workperk with that extra boost to get us energised for the busy trading period ahead. David Wright Chelsea L. We love collaborating with our supplier partners to bring new and exclusive products to our stores. Our team have worked with our friends at Mondelēz International to create a Limited Edition Cadbury Caramilk Shake Station Shake. It’s a delicious treat – particularly with a Caramilk Bar, a Caramilk Block, or with Caramilk Bauble share packs. By happy coincidence you can find all this Caramilk goodness in our stores right now (not so coincidental – our team planned it beautifully😊) Our Melbourne team did the hard yards testing out the indulgent treat combos recently and we can 10/10 recommend! #workperks David Wright Chelsea L. Our digital Run, Lead & Grow My Store learning program for our store leaders and our Learning and Growth team were recognised at the international LearnX Awards held in Melbourne recently. The LearnX awards celebrate innovation, digitally enabled learning, and overall excellence in learning and development across the corporate, education, public and not-for-profit sectors. Our team collected three Platinum Awards (Best Leadership Development, Best eLearning Project, Best Learning Design Team) and two Diamond (Best Induction/Onboarding, Best Blended Learning) LearnX awards – an extraordinary effort for their work to support our store leaders. The capability of the people who lead and run our stores is the cornerstone of achieving our ambition of every Australian saying 7-Eleven is my convenient neighbourhood store. So, to be recognised for our work in supporting store leaders to enhance their capabilities is an extraordinary foundation on which to make our growth strategy a success. Congratulations to everyone in the Learning and Growth team and across the business who has contributed to this moment of extraordinary recognition.
