What a year for Akaysha Energy! Could not have imagined that we would have achieved so much in such a short time if I look back to the start of 2024. The company is only 3.5 years old and 2.5 years since BlackRock enabled our capital growth.... It has been an insane amount of work for many folks - time for a rest... Massive thanks to all our staff and key partners for helping us achieve this in 2024. Believe it or not, 2025 is looking significantly bigger for Akaysha Energy than 2024 in terms of Flexible Storage MWs in the NEM, ERCOT (and other markets), projects, capital raising and deployment, people, and growth with some incredible milestones hurtling towards us. As we approach the end of another remarkable year, it’s time to reflect on our journey and recharge our batteries — both literally and metaphorically! At Akaysha Energy, we’ve made significant strides advancing the world’s most powerful energy storage solutions, thanks to the incredible support of our partners, customers, and communities BlackRock, EnergyCo, EnergyAustralia, Powin, Tesla Energy, Hitachi Energy, Consolidated Power Projects, Wilson Transformer Company, AEMO Services, Transgrid, Powerlink Queensland, Quanta Services Australia, Smarter Power Solutions, Aurecon, PSC Consulting, WSP and many more. Our big wins this year include: ⚡ Safely reaching a total of 1.65GW across four mega-scale battery energy storage solutions in construction, ⚡ Expanding Akaysha's US footprint with two projects progressing well in Texas, ⚡ Securing ~A$1billion of project financing, including the largest BESS financing globally at A$650 million for Akaysha’s 4-hour Orana BESS, ⚡ Innovating with a first of its kind ‘virtual toll’ offtake agreement with EnergyAustralia for 200MW of contracted capacity from Orana BESS,  ⚡ Keeping the lights on in NSW! Our Waratah Super Battery provided this essential support during commissioning and has also reached mechanical completion, and ⚡ Giving communities a stronger say in benefit sharing with our newly launched community portal and ‘fund it’ tool. And we couldn’t have done this without our 135-strong, super-charged, fast-paced, hyper-committed, deeply valued team! Akaysha Energy together with its delivery partners Consolidated Power Projects, Transgrid, Powin and eks Energy, has completed the first stage of energisation for EnergyCo's Waratah Super Battery, with energisation of the Waratah substation at 330kV, facilitated from Transgrid’s Munmorah Substation. This key milestone also signifies completion of the Waratah Super Battery's grid connection process as it's now registered in the NEM. This paves the way for commissioning works to commence on the project, and is a key milestone in moving towards commercial operations and delivering the SIPS Service to the NSW electrical network. 🔋 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gsPVsUJ7

Lead and contribute to Akaysha Energy US! As a member of the team responsible for BESS development and related renewable project opportunities in the United States, the Senior Development Manager is the lead in site identification and acquisition, project development, and approval of the site, OEM and EPC negotiation, and overall coordination of all aspects of the project on behalf of Akaysha and our investment partners. 🌎 We are open to this role being positioned at either of our offices in Portland OR, or Austin TX. In our Development & Delivery pillar we are joined by: Jake Darby, Site Manager Michael Greaves, Site Manager Jasmine Kerameas, Community Engagement Manager Nurudeen Huthman, Senior Project Manager and Serena Jensen, Project Coordinator We also welcome Nicole Santek who is supporting in a contracting capacity as Quality & Logistics Coordinator. This week #Akaysha broke ground on Brendale BESS alongside our key project partners, Tesla Energy, Powerlink Queensland, Consolidated Power Projects Australia Pty Ltd and landowner Unitywater. Welcomed to country by Songwoman Maroochy, Akaysha's second QLD BESS with a system profile of 205MW/410MWh, begins construction to reduce electricity costs and enhance grid stability in line with the Queensland Government’s renewable energy targets.
