The Alliance for Living Evidence welcomes increasing investment in the evidence ecosystem At Alive, we’re thrilled to see growing investment in evidence infrastructure, like the recent announcements by @UKRI_News and @wellcometrust. These bold steps mark progress toward an evidence ecosystem that is more responsive, inclusive, and effective. Alive is a global network committed to reshaping how evidence is synthesized and used. While we’re not directly involved in these new investments, we’ve long advocated for building: Living evidence systems: Dynamic, up-to-date, and responsive Strong partnerships: Connecting decision-makers with the evidence they need Equitable approaches: Ensuring inclusion and fairness Our Wellcome-supported work in mental health and climate & health exemplifies these principles. Now, our priority is to expand living evidence partnerships with five key characteristics: Useful: Driven by decision-makers’ needs Fair: Prioritizing equity at every step Collaborative: Creating shared understanding and aligned action Dynamic: Staying current with living evidence and technology Efficient: Evidence created once, used many times Equity is central to our mission. We’re focused on securing funding for partnerships led by and serving the Global South, amplifying innovations from regions often excluded from major evidence initiatives. These innovations, born from scarcity, show how creativity thrives under pressure. Together, we can create an evidence ecosystem that delivers timely, relevant, and trustworthy evidence to decision-makers everywhere. Join us in this transformation. Contact us at hello@aliveevidence.org to learn more. #AliveEvidence #LivingEvidence #EquityInAction #EvidenceTransformation *This statement was prepared by the Alive Secretariat on behalf of the broad Alliance with inputs from our Executive Committee and Council. It does not represent the views of any individual or organisation within the Alliance, each of whom will have their own positions in relation to the announced investments.*

Alive is thrilled to announce that our model for Living Evidence Partnerships is now being utilised in DESTINY (Digital Evidence Synthesis Tool Innovation Yielding Improvements in Climate & Health), a Wellcome Trust-funded consortium, to ensure that digital evidence synthesis tools (DESTs) are designed and utilised to meet the needs of those advancing evidence-informed climate and health initiatives. The DESTINY project is developing advanced synthesis tools to supply policymakers and evidence users with impactful, living evidence on climate and health, supported by the essential contributions of the Future Evidence Foundation The project will apply Digital Evidence Synthesis Tools (DESTs) across six impact cases to showcase their value in climate and health. These cases will develop living evidence maps, advance automation in synthesis, and enable fast, evidence-based decisions. Highlights include creating the first comprehensive climate and health evidence map, transferring knowledge to under-resourced areas, and supporting progress on global SDGs. Together, these efforts will ensure DESTs are practical, inclusive, and impactful for real-world challenges. We are proud to be partnering with Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC) gGmbH, PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, The Campbell Collaboration, Cochrane, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, U. of London, eBASE Africa, The The Center for Rapid Evidence Synthesis (ACRES), the African Synthesis Centre for Climate Change, Environment and Development (ASCEND) and the University of Cape Town. #AliveEvidence #LivingEvidence #EvidenceSynthesis #AIinEvidence #DESTINYProject

We are reflecting on The Global Evidence Summit (GES 2024) that took place in Prague last month. GES 2024 was full of energy and featured an impressive lineup of plenaries. The Alliance for Living Evidence (Alive) had a strong presence throughout the event, and we’re proud to have been part of many engaging sessions. Alive led impactful discussions on climate evidence alongside our council member and a global leader in the field Jan Minx. Our Director, Ruth Stewart, organised an outstanding Special Session with Centre for Evidence and Implementation's CEO, Robyn Mildon, on ‘Building a Truly Global Evidence Ecosystem.’ Meanwhile, our Chief Scientist, Britta Tendal Jeppesen co-chaired a highly engaging debate on AI, which many described as one of the highlights of the conference. Alive is a relatively new initiative, but GES 2024 solidified our position on the global stage. The strong presence of our Alliance members throughout the conference contributed to a vibrant and meaningful dialogue around our work, generating significant interest and excitement. We are energized by the momentum created and look forward to continuing our mission to improving societal outcomes through the production and use of timely, trustworthy and affordable evidence. #GES2024 #AliveEvidence #LivingEvidence
