Today, we proudly celebrate Marc Clavin (Amcal Sorrento Franchise Partner) who has been a cornerstone of the Sorrento community for over 40 years as their trusted local pharmacist. Marc will be handing over the reins to a newly formed partnership between manager, Kash and daughter, Susannah who will continue to deliver a dynamic and fresh approach to providing exceptional pharmacy service. Marc's next chapter will see him enjoying precious time with his grandchildren, pursuing his sporting interests and travelling. Congratulations to Aidan Kassi from Amcal Kings Cross (NSW) for being named the state winner in this year’s Pharmacy Assistant of the Year Award (PATY) at the gala awards ceremony in Sydney recently. It’s been an incredible journey for Aidan to receive the honour in this prestigious award, having started as a pharmacy assistant six years ago. “Back then, I didn’t realise how much I’d enjoy it,” Aidan said. “I’ve always enjoyed helping people, and working in pharmacy has given me the chance to make a real difference.” He does admit, however, to being completely blown away by his PATY triumph. “It’s such a great feeling to be recognised for something I enjoy doing every day.” “We’ve got an amazing team at Amcal Kings Cross,” he said. “We’re fortunate to have an incredible team of pharmacists, intern pharmacists, pharmacy assistants, and a leadership team who are all deeply committed to providing the best service possible.” Congratulations Aidan on your fantastic achievement! #AmcalPharmacy #PharmacyAssistantNationalConference

Congratulations to Amcal Dixon's Pharmacy on celebrating 130 years as what is believed to be Australia's longest continuous family-run pharmacy! Established in 1894 in Wynyard, Tasmania by Arthur Dixon, four generations of Dixons have successfully run the pharmacy which is now owned and operated by pharmacist Kathryn Dixon. Sigma's CEO & Managing Director, Vikesh Ramsunder paid tribute to the Dixon family's commitment to serving their community and acknowledged Sigma's enduring relationship with the pharmacy. Rowan has been at the helm of Donnybrook Pharmacy for 12 years, transitioning the business from a retail model to a health services-focused approach through a partnership with Amcal. His career began on the Gold Coast and included experiences in Perth before seizing the opportunity in Donnybrook. He attributes his success to investing in team development, fostering a positive workplace culture, and enhancing patient access to health services. Rowan expressed deep gratitude on his recent win, emphasising how special it was to be honored for his role as a pharmacist, noting "I feel very motivated to keep moving forward, working towards further improvements and contributing to change in our profession".
