  • There’s plenty of talk about foreign interference and geopolitical risk. While the discussion is valuable, it is missing the mark on delivering a tangible, and actionable ‘so what’. Small and medium-sized businesses need affordable, clear, specific solutions to protect themselves without wasting resources or disrupting operations. We do that. Here’s how we do it: Vulnerability Assessments. We evaluate your company’s resilience to foreign interference and geopolitical risk across six key areas- it includes but extends well beyond cyber. Our assessment highlights your specific vulnerabilities and provides clear, actionable steps to close gaps and boost resilience. Supply Chain Security. A confidential review of your supply chain, including third and fourth parties. This assessment goes beyond standard reviews to uncover hidden risks, foreign interference, and compliance threats linked to your partners. Organisational Uplift. Build resilience through tailored training and awareness programs, empowering your team to counter foreign interference effectively. Partner with us to strengthen your resilience and ensure operational success.

  • Is your IP protection strategy truly comprehensive? Protecting intellectual property (IP) requires more than just cybersecurity and IP law. While these are essential, they’re only part of the equation. Today’s IP risks are evolving: supply chain vulnerabilities, geopolitical factors, and foreign interference all pose significant challenges. A truly effective approach to address these complexities demands robust measures that extend beyond the classics. Consider: - Supply Chain Security: A weak link in your partners’ processes can compromise your IP. - Geopolitical Risks: State-sponsored actors and strategic competitors are targeting innovation globally. - International jurisdictions and culture: Missteps in international operations can create unintended exposures. We have your tangible next steps. Give us a call.

  • "And, as Director-General Security Mike Burgess has outlined, foreign interference continues to jeopardise Australia’s sovereignty, values and national interests, while the threat posed by espionage – particularly to AUKUS and our other advanced defence capabilities – remains intense". - Andrew Shearer, Director-General of National Intelligence, 4 Nov 24 Advanced defence capabilities are born in industry, nurtured and developed through the blood, sweat, and tears of Australia and her partner nations. As such, companies must also possess the inherent means to protect their hard work from espionage and foreign interference. Agree? Reach out and discuss what to do next.

  • Does your business depend on Australian Government contracts to stay alive? Read the below. The Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) sets mandatory security standards to protect sensitive data, assets, and personnel across government and its partners. The 2024 update makes PSPF compliance crucial for businesses pursuing government contracts, as it now directly addresses urgent risks like foreign interference and supply chain security that can affect contract eligibility. Compliance is always the baseline, but taking action is essential. For any business reliant on government contracts, take these steps to secure your standing: - Know Yourself. Identify and lock down sensitive information, key personnel, and operations that are of value to you and therefore a foreign actor. Understand your own vulnerabilities before dealing with external threats. - Know Your Partners. Dig deeper into each of your partner’s ownership, control, and foreign connections to ensure they align with your security standards and won’t introduce risk into your operations. Apex Sentinel’s Operational Vulnerability Assessment provides the tailored insights and actionable outcomes you need to meet PSPF standards, fortify your business against foreign interference, and ensure your supply chain aligns with the stringent security expectations of government partnerships. • Everybody loves a statistic and some logic. There are 2.66 million actively trading businesses in Australia today. The aggregate percentage of Australian businesses that could be categorised to operate within industries outlined in the Made in China 2025 policy is approximately 53.8%. That is 1.43 million Australian businesses that are of interest, and therefore could be subject to foreign interference. While the Australian Government provides incredible support, it simply cannot support every business with the specificity required to have impact. Self-help and awareness is the essential first step toward the balanced protection of your IP, assets, and operations. Dont know what to do next? Just give us a call.

  • Foreign interference isn't just a cyber security or distant geopolitical issue, it poses a direct threat to Australian businesses across a range of methods. The recent example of Iranian activity shows how hostile actors can target sensitive sectors, potentially disrupting operations, stealing intellectual property, or even undermining trust with customers and partners. The 'so what' for Australian businesses clear: ignoring these risks can result in significant financial, reputational, and operational damage. To safeguard your business, distill these threats into how they specifically apply to you and address them through targeted, balanced actions. This approach goes beyond cybersecurity, it's about protecting your IP, assets and operations, to remain competitive, compliant, and resilient.
