Proud to share Art Pharmacy - B Corp Certified - Art Consultants's collaboration with Laing O'Rourke as part of Transport for NSW 's Transport Access Program upgrade to elevate the commuter experience at St Peters Station. This project transforms the station into more than just a transit space—it becomes a reflection of the local community’s unique identity, bringing cultural depth and visual interest to the daily commute. The installation invites commuters to see the station as a place for connection and reflection, aligning with the program’s broader aim to enrich public spaces across NSW. At the heart of this project is ‘Bridging Moments’, a cohesive heritage-inspired mural created by Inner West Sydney mural artist Kim Siew. The work blends historical elements with a figurative artistic approach, capturing the evolving environment of St Peters Station. Through the use of geometric shapes, figures, and patterns drawn from architectural features such as the footbridge, stairs, and platforms, the artwork underscores the role of public transport in fostering community connections. ‘Bridging Moments’ serves as a testament to how art curation and placemaking can transform public spaces into meaningful, vibrant environments that echo the culture, values, and needs of a community. It honours the station’s historical heritage while strengthening community identity, creating an uplifting transport hub that bridges the past, present, and future iterations of the local area. Art Pharmacy - B Corp Certified - Art Consultants and Penrith City Council have unveiled four stunning public artworks created by two talented local artists for Gipps Street Recreation Park. Emma Anna’s ‘Trikaleidscopes’ are origami-like forms that are based on a series of paper sculptures. Her work reimagines a paper kaleidoscope toy arranged to appear as if they were fallen stars scattered on the ground plane. They bring a playful yet industrial feel that complements the concrete and metal surfaces of the youth precinct. The hexagonal forms evoke play and nod to the natural geometry of bee hives, symbolising the skate park as a hive of activity. Thematically, Morgan Shimeld’s towering, yellow ‘Gateway’ evokes ‘re-emergence’ through the stature and relationship between the forms. Reminiscent of a family unit, as a whole, reflecting growth and diversity. On approaching the work the viewer is invited to explore the shifting perspective and play of light upon the faceted forms. The interlocking elements create a contemplative space, posed in an embrace signifying emergence. The grandeur of the central abstracted figures inspires feelings of growth and permanence. These public artworks, distinctly playful and created especially for this park, build a strong sense of identity for the local community, which uses and interacts with the park daily. They exemplify Art Pharmacy’s mantra of art in the everyday. A big thank you to Penrith City Council for collaborating with us on this project!
