When our payroll officer Kristy rallied the ACC team to support Share the Dignity #ItsintheBag collection, she thought she might get a couple of bags. Today she packed her boot with 17 bags, plus 2 extra bags of overflow product. These bags are filled with period products, toiletries, and thoughtful treats, helping to restore dignity and provide essentials to women and girls in need. Interstate and Queensland visitors from Hilton Foods Australia spent this morning getting familiar with our unique meat processing facility at Cannon Hill. The group, which included staff and interns, were greeted by our Chief Operating Officer Andrew Ross and given a guided tour of the processing plant where they watched the process of creating and packaging ACC's own 1620-branded prime beef products. Hilton Foods Australia is one of our customers; we proudly supply them through the GreenStock supply chain. Year 11 Ag Science students from Lockyer District High School went through the whole beef supply chain during a visit to our Cannon Hill facility last week. They spent the morning exploring ACC’s industry-leading processing capability, as well as the wide range of careers that the red meat industry offers. LDHS is one of only a handful of state schools that breed its own cattle for the school-based stud; not something many students in SE Queensland get to experience. We are always happy to share the ACC success story with beef’s next-gen leaders. We are delighted to see our General Manager Feedlots, David Bailey, re-elected as a director of the peak industry group, Australian Lot Feeders' Association (ALFA). David, who works from our Opal Creek facility, was re-elected at ALFA’s recent Brisbane AGM. In its 54th year, ALFA serves close to 90% of Australia’s cattle feedlot capacity and – as outgoing president Barb Madden noted – “remains committed to nurturing cattle, land, and community in everything we do”. When our Group CFO Michael Brown pledged to walk 150km for the Black Dog Institute, things didn't go as planned...
