The IGCC summit has just wrapped for another year and we're proud to have sponsored such an incredibly valuable, insightful and impactful event. This year's theme was Mission 1.5°, which focused on uniting efforts to maintain momentum toward achieving critical climate goals. AE's Head of Ethics and Impact, Alison George and Ethical Stewardship Lead, Persephone Fraser each took part in a panel session sharing their perspectives on the emerging challenges of corporate climate engagement and the net zero transition. #IGCCSummit2024 #IGCCSummit2024 #NetZero #EthicalInvesting Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC)

About us
A superannuation and investment fund manager with a difference. We believe that the power of money can be harnessed to deliver both competitive returns and positive change for society and the environment. By investing responsibly in well-managed, ethical companies, this is exactly what we achieve. We seek out positive investments that support people, quality and sustainability, and we avoid investments that cause unnecessary harm to people, animals, society and the environment. While we do believe a small group of people can change the world, the opportunity is far bigger than that. The more people that invest ethically, the more significant the positive change we will create. Imagine the impact of all that money invested for good. There’s never been a better time to take control of your own financial wellbeing and the wellbeing of families, communities and the planet. Ethical and sustainable investing isn’t just a part of what we do. Unlike most of our competitors, it’s everything we do. And while we’ve evolved in many ways since starting in 1986, we have always stayed true to this. Now, we manage $12.95 billion for more than 130,000 funded customers (managed fund investors and funded superannuation members) as at 30 June 2024. We’re proud to support the Climate Action Pays Off campaign which was launched by the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) earlier in October. Home-grown clean energy is Australia’s ticket to a better financial future, and we believe it’s important to showcase the great strides we’ve already taken as the Government considers our next steps towards limiting global warming to 1.5°C by 2050. Check out how Trent’s experience of the 2019 bushfires turned his attention to making buildings sustainable. There are many climate-impacted Australians like Trent using their experience to protect our future. https://lnkd.in/gMXvSYbY #ClimateActionPaysOff #ClimateAction #EthicalInvesting Persephone Fraser, Alison George, Kate Saunders, Maria Loyez, Mara Bún

Incredibly excited to have the talented and experienced Altius Asset Management team join Australian Ethical! “Altius is a leading purpose-driven fixed income manager with a team of six that will deepen our fixed income investment capability and ability to deliver sound investment returns while influencing a better future for people, planet and animals.” - John McMurdo, Australian Ethical CEO
This week Altius Asset Management became part of Australian Ethical Investment As a team we are very excited by the opportunities ahead of us – combining our deep expertise in responsible fixed income with Australian Ethical’s strong heritage in ethical investment. We would also like to thank Australian Unity Wealth and the many great people there. We count ourselves fortunate to have worked with them for the past 13 odd years since Altius was founded in 2011. Pleasingly, our close relationship continues as Altius will still manage cash and fixed income portfolios for Australian Unity - something we consider a great vote of confidence in our future at Australian Ethical

Some great insights shared by Persephone Fraser in the latest Green Dream podcast as she dives into her work on assessing investments against AE's Ethical Charter. Listen to full episode here: https://lnkd.in/gbMXmha9
An Ethical Investment Week 2024 interview: 'What type of ethical investor are you?' It’s been 3 years since we had a chat to Australian Ethical about their ethics, and they have grown substantially since then - they now manage over $10 billion for investors. In this podcast we were excited to interview Persephone Fraser, who is the (Acting) Ethical Stewardship Lead at Australian Ethical. In addition to the Stewardship role, she performs ethics research to define AE’s sustainable investment universe. She is also responsible for policy advocacy and strategic engagement work streams and communications, with her focus areas being climate change, including high emitting and hard to abate sectors like built environment, and transition facilitating activities like transition minerals and hydrogen. #ESG #ClimateAction #EthicalInvesting https://lnkd.in/gytUW-dD
