Yesterday, representatives from Industry Capability Network - WA (ICN) Gateway toured Australian Vanadium Limited's vanadium electrolyte manufacturing facility in WA. ICN Gateway falls under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA, with a focus on connecting small to medium size Australian-owned business to large projects. ICN helps companies to support local businesses and also has a register of First Nation businesses to help ensure equal opportunity is at the forefront of their services. AVL has a page on ICN Gateway where companies can register their interest in the Australian Vanadium Project and be kept informed when new packages are advertised. https://lnkd.in/gi3rwd8Y #vanadium #VFB Andie Pfaff Hengameh Kiani Vaibhav Maheshwari Ray Loh Greg O'Connor Todd Richardson Samantha McGahan Trevor Smith

Developing The Australian Vanadium Project in Western Australia | ASX: AVL
About us
Australian Vanadium Limited is bringing its high grade vanadium project in Western Australia into production and also taking advantage of growth in the energy storage market through its subsidiary VSUN Energy. The Company is developing the Australian Vanadium Project near Meekatharra, which is among the highest-grade vanadium projects in the world. Australian Vanadium’s vision is to create value for shareholders by supplying its high-grade product to battery projects worldwide, as either vanadium pentoxide or vanadium electrolyte. This strategy is backed up by a complementary market in the steel sector, which also has increasing demand for vanadium. The company was listed on the ASX in 2007 and is backed by a strong executive team and board. Cliff Lawrenson is the company’s Non-Executive Chairman while Graham Arvidson leads senior management in the role of CEO. ASX: AVL

This is the final post for the key VFB benefits series - vanadium flow batteries have a competitive LCOS when compared to lithium-ion batteries. LCOS stands for levelised cost of storage. This refers to the cost to store and distribute energy per megawatt hour over a project's lifetime. As VFBs are designed for long duration energy storage, they become cost-competitive with lithium-ion batteries from the 4-hour mark onwards. Were you aware of this benefit? #vanadium #VFB

Federal Minister for Resources and Minister for Northern Australia, Hon Madeleine King MP spoke on the Future Made in Australia (Production Tax Credits and Other Measures) Bill 2024 last week in Parliament. The Minister quoted some of the companies that have shown support for the Bill, including AVL. 'There's Australian Vanadium Limited, a really important company creating vanadium and vanadium flow batteries, a really spectacular new technology. Their CEO, Graham Arvidson, has said: It is highly encouraging to see the Australian Government recognising and supporting the important role critical mineral developers play in the economic growth of the country and the benefits these mineral projects and their downstream industries bring to the regions in which they operate. AVL has been encouraged by the level of consultation that the Government has undertaken with industry to reach this stage. I think Mr Arvidson makes a really important point: how important these projects are in the regions in which they exist—in the regions right around this country. I table these documents, to the Clerk.' https://lnkd.in/dPw-zHf5 #vanadium #VFB $AVL #ProductionTaxIncentives

AVL’s Senior Metallurgist and Process Engineer, Greg O'Connor has been part of the team working on this vanadium electrolyte project with the Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre #vanadium #VFB $AVL
On Friday, we came together for the fourth Project Review Meeting for the Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre project – Development of Vanadium Electrolytes. In rechargeable Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFBs), the electrolyte is one of the key components that has a direct impact on the battery’s capacity and energy density. VRFBs are typically used for grid energy storage. In this collaborative project, the team of participants are investigating the role and impact of additives and impurities to maximise electrolyte performance in a cost-effective manner. Thank you to all participant representatives and presenters who joined (both in-person and virtual) to absorb the current technical advances that have been gained in this successful Vanadium Electrolytes project. #VRFB #gridstorage #FBICRC

AVL was pleased to sponsor the Pollinators Inc - CityHive 2024 NextGen Entrepreneurs Competition. The program helps students develop social and environmental solution-focused thinking, while building their STEM knowledge and design skills. AVL's Regional Engagement Manager Amy Chadbourne was honoured to be part of the team of judges for the competition. Congratulations to all the students who participated - you all did a fantastic job! A big thank you to Pollinators for organising such a valuable event, giving Mid West students the chance to tackle real-world climate challenges. Pollinators posted on Facebook about the event: NextGen Pitch Night! On Monday, the future of innovation and creativity unfolded as young changemakers took the stage at NextGen Pitch Night! From groundbreaking solutions to brilliant ideas, these kids blew us away with their talent and passion. A massive THANK you to... Our incredible sponsors for making this event possible: Rio Tinto, Australian Vanadium Limited and Iluka Resources. Australian Vanadium Limited reposted this
It has been my pleasure hosting Australian Vanadium Limited for a series of meetings with #institutional clients over the past few days. #AVL is developing an #AustralianBatteryIndustry utilising #VanadiumFlowBatteries that will be used in conjunction with #lithium for #GridScaleStorage. Wednesday's wholesale price spike across NSW reinforces the need for more battery storage as Australia's coal fired generators retire even faster than forecasts suggest. This is the second last post for the key VFB benefits series - vanadium flow batteries do not have the same warranty constraints as lithium-ion batteries. Lithium-ion battery warranties are heavily restricted in operation. This includes limits on energy throughput, as well as operating temperatures. In contrast, VFBs do not degrade with increased use and there are no warranty constraints on cycling. This allows a project developer the ability to monetise the BESS frequently, offering the potential for huge benefits as revenue streams change. Were you aware of these benefits? #vanadium #VFB

Australian Vanadium Limited supports the introduction of the Federal Government’s Critical Minerals Production Tax Incentive to Parliament today. CEO Graham Arvidson commented, “It is highly encouraging to see the Australian Government recognising and supporting the important role critical mineral developers play in the economic growth of the country and the benefits these mineral projects and their downstream industries bring to the regions in which they operate. AVL has been encouraged by the level of consultation that the Government has undertaken with industry to reach this stage." #vanadium #VFB $AVL

Australian Vanadium Limited has been featured in this year's National Mining Day Magazine, produced by The West Australian. AVL's CEO Graham Arvidson was interviewed about the company's strategy to optimise value across the supply chain. 'At the heart of AVL's strategy is vertical integration, which will keep the entire vanadium supply chain within the country - from mining to battery manufacture and deployment.' The full article has been attached for your convenience. #vanadium #VFB $AVL
