  • ISLAMABAD, Emaar Properties has announced the completion of a revolutionary facade lighting upgrade for Burj Khalifa. This dynamic Red, Green, Blue, White (RGBW) lighting system, integrating cutting-edge technology with the building’s architectural artistry, will debut during the UAE’s Eid Al Etihad celebrations on Sunday (December 1, 2024), and set the stage for the 15th anniversary of the world’s tallest building on January 4, 2025. The upgrade transforms the iconic facade into a stunning visual spectacle, offering a wide spectrum of vibrant colours and effects, enhancing the guest experience while reinforcing Dubai's status as a global leader in innovation and design excellence. The process was carefully coordinated, with a six-month mock-up testing to ensure seamless integration. The upgraded system features dynamic RGBW technology, replacing static lights with colour-changing, addressable fixtures to create complex lighting effects. Without compromising Burj Khalifa’s sleek design, the system can create dynamic lighting scenes, from festive displays to everyday illuminations, complementing the tower’s media screen and adapting to various occasions and celebrations. In his comments, Executive Director, Emaar Properties, Ahmad Al Matrooshi said Burj Khalifa has always stood as a beacon of what is possible when vision meets innovation. He said this lighting overhaul is a testament to Emaar’s continuous pursuit of excellence and a tribute to the UAE’s spirit of progress. "As we unveil this stunning upgrade during Eid Al Etihad celebrations and approach the tower’s 15th anniversary, this transformation marks a new chapter in its legacy, reaffirming Dubai as a city of boundless ambition,” he added. The lighting system not only enhances Burj Khalifa’s visual presence but also strengthens its position as a global icon of architectural brilliance and a symbol of modern design innovation. By perfectly blending technology with artistry, this project sets a new benchmark for architectural lighting and promises to inspire future projects worldwide. As well as Burj Khalifa, a global icon, Dubai Mall, the world's most-visited retail and lifestyle destination, and Dubai Fountain, the world’s largest performing fountain, are among Emaar’s trophy destinations.

  • The Philips Professional Displays Tableaux ‘zero power’ ePaper Series, has been selected to revolutionise in-house communications at the historic Nenuphar restaurant and hotel by delivering a low cost, highly sustainable, digital alternative to paper. Located in Ghent, Belgium, the Nenuphar is a popular destination and overnight retreat for locals and tourists alike. With a focus on ehancing its sustainability credentials and reduce its ecological footprint, the Nenuphar owners sought a user-friendly digital solution to replace and eliminate paper wastage. Teaming up with local AV integration specialist, TechWorks, the Philips Tableaux Advanced Colour ePaper digital signage series from PPDS was identified as the clear choice to achieve the owners’ ambitions, with four 25” portable models strategically placed for maximum engagement in – but not limited to – the bar, restaurant, event, and restroom areas. Seamlessly integrated into the elegant spaces, without distracting from the curated ambiance, the Philips Tableaux displays have transformed the way the Nenuphar’s team communicates with its customers, eliminating paper – with near zero power consumption. Philips Tableaux from PPDS is the world’s first ACeP display series to be launched by a global display manufacturer. Ticking all boxes for the Nenuphar team, the display range – which also includes 13” and 32” size variants – delivers environmental and energy savings, providing vivid imagery 24 hours a day, seven days a week, unplugged and without using a kW of power for days, weeks, or even years. Minimal power is needed only when changing the image displayed or for remote management. Content can be easily created and shared on all, or on individual displays, with special offers, restaurant menus, safety messaging and, of course, a library of paintings by Gustave. These are just some examples of how the four Philips Tableaux displays are being used. Portable, and weighing just 3.5kg, installation uses and locations inside and outside the Nunuphar are, however, potentially infinite, and the displays can be placed in any space, with or without accessible power points. Nenuphar staff can create a setlist of content to be displayed during specific times of the day, ie. menu changes (specials, availability), in-house marketing (such as happy hour, live music), or business branding for corporate events. Augmented with PPDS’ professional Android SoC processor, as well as WiFi/LAN, displays inside the Nunuphar can be managed manually on site or entirely remotely with minimal training. The installation was completed smoothly and on time with minimal disruption to the restaurant’s business operations and experiences for new and existing guests. • As part of a new multi-year partnership with the Dallas Cowboys NFL football team, LG Business Solutions USA has completed the first installation of its LG MAGNIT Micro LED displays at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. “LG’s innovative display technology has ushered in a new era in the evolution of Micro LED displays, and we are proud to have these displays installed at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys,” said David Bacher, head of marketing for LG Business Solutions USA. “Over the course of our new multi-year partnership, we look forward to introducing fans to even more of our award-winning display technology and solutions.” As the “Official Display Partner of the Dallas Cowboys,” LG Business Solutions USA is now the preferred provider of displays at AT&T Stadium and at The Star – the Cowboys’ training facility and corporate headquarters in Frisco, Texas. As part of the first phase of a significant stadium refresh and renovation in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, seven LG MAGNIT Micro LED walls have been installed in the newly renovated Bank of America Founders Club. More than 600 LG 4K commercial displays also are featured in the stadium’s suites. Complementing LG Business Solutions USA’s technology alliance with the NFL team, LG’s U.S. Home Entertainment Division (named “Official TV Partner of the Dallas Cowboys”) is providing digital advertising throughout AT&T Stadium for all preseason and regular season games and other Cowboys-sponsored events including concerts, rodeos and motorsports shows. In addition to placement of award-winning LG OLED TVs in AT&T Stadium premium suites, this marketing collaboration will include in-stadium and broadcast digital marketing initiatives including presenting sponsorship of the “The Break,” the Dallas Cowboys’ most watched video podcast, which features 120 episodes annually. LG Electronics USA’s partnership with the Dallas Cowboys, known as “America’s Team,” represents a major LG marketing initiative with national reach; at the same time, it builds on the company’s strong existing ties to the local community. North Texas is home to hundreds of local workers – at LG’s air solutions training academy and service centre in Farmers Branch, at LG’s electric vehicle charger production factory that opened earlier this year in Fort Worth, and at LG’s million-square-foot distribution centre for consumer electronics and home appliances, which has been in the Dallas area for three decades. • Christie GS Series1DLP laser projectors captivated visitors with bright and colorful visuals depicting electric arc currents at a recent exhibition in the Shanghai Powerlong Museum, a non-profit private institution dedicated to fostering cultural exchange and communication. Titled Dreamscape: An Interactive Tech-Art Exhibition, the 11-week event transported visitors into a multiverse of wonders and fantasies through a unique situational interactive experience. Taking two years to complete, the exhibition featured two main areas and seven themed spaces that seamlessly blended cutting-edge technology with original art and visual design. In Hall 1, visitors encountered a groundbreaking interactive installation named Shocking Thunder. Standing at over 10 meters (33 feet) in height, this awe-inspiring installation combined compelling visual and sound effects, with a stunning display of real electric currents released from a stainless-steel mirror. At the heart of this was seven Christie DWU1075-GS laser projectors, installed by Shanghai Qingying Digital Technology. These projectors created dynamic floor projections that reacted to visitor movements, displaying intricate electric arc patterns on the ground when visitors stepped on designated spots equipped with motion-sensing devices. “The deployment of Christie GS Series laser projectors at the ‘Shocking Thunder’ exhibition area had been pivotal in delivering an immersive and interactive experience for visitors,” says Yueyi Wu, general manager, Shanghai Qingying Digital Technology. “These projectors’ superior brightness, advanced colour reproduction, and reliable 24/7 operation enabled us to create striking visuals that mesmerized and engaged audiences.” With its impressive 10,875 lumens and WUXGA resolution, the DWU1075-GS offers life-like visuals with advanced colour reproduction. The projector’s laser illumination, combined with Christie BoldColor Technology, creates the colour balance needed to accurately reproduce colourful images without sacrificing brightness. Additionally, Christie RealBlack technology produces the deepest possible blacks by completely turning off the laser light when displaying black scenes, enhancing the overall visual experience. Designed for reliability and versatility, GS Series laser projectors feature a small footprint, light weight, quiet operation, and a full suite of lenses, making them ideal for boardrooms, education, and places of worship. Their 24/7 operation durability ensures they can handle the demands of high-usage environments, such as museums and theme parks. Christie Digital Systems Australia Pty Ltd
