In anticipation of our next online discussion event, we are thrilled to introduce our incredible special guest, Maddison H., an experienced workplace lawyer at Gilchrist Connell in Melbourne. Maddison brings a wealth of knowledge on a variety of employment-related matters, including workplace disputes, employee terminations, discrimination, and health and safety. She represents a broad range of clients, from small family-owned businesses to multinational corporations, across industries like retail, aged care, education, and government. Beyond her legal expertise, Maddison is a dedicated advocate for equality and has extensive experience representing clients before the Fair Work Commission, federal courts, and state discrimination tribunals. We are honored to have Maddison join us to share her insights on issues of equality in the workplace, as well as her unique perspective on challenges affecting the LGBTQ+ community, particularly in schools. With her experience advising schools, she will provide valuable commentary on equality at law and how it intersects with the education system. Join us for this important conversation, where we'll explore how we can work together to address these key issues and foster more inclusive environments. Join us online on Wednesday 30 October 12-130pm (AEST) for Part 2 in our discussion series, this time on Gender & Equity in Schools. Following our recent discussion on Gender Equity, in Part 2 we’re continuing the topic of gender but also expanding into other forms of equity/inequity in schools. Our research earlier this year; The Gold Coast Schoolyard: A Crossroads of Gender Equity, got us curious about intersectional equity and the different aspects of equity across our school system. Registration & participation is free for this interactive LIVE session in which we will provide a brief overview of our research and insights, and ask a panel of special guests and experts what can we do to help improve equity in schools & why is it important? We’ll encourage interaction & try to include an opportunity for Q&A. We’ll also give some practical tips on how you can get involved & help drive positive change. @Mark Morris will be facilitating this important conversation.
