About us
Bega Garnbirringu Health Services is an Aboriginal Controlled Health Organisation that was established in 1982 to provide culturally appropriate, holistic health care service offering clinical services, health promotion and health education for the people of the Goldfields region. This region covers an area more than three times greater in size than Victoria and covers almost one third of the State’s total land mass. 99% of the Goldfields region is classified as very remote. Initially the service was established for the local Aboriginal community, yet as demand has increased we currently service a broader transient community along with approximately 10% of our client base of other ethnicity that hold a health care card. All clients’ consultations are bulk-billed to Medicare. The service is based in the center of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, the largest outback city in Australia, located 600km from Perth. Medical services are provided not only to those clients who reside within the limits of the city itself but also to local and outlying communities by means of regular Outreach clinics. These are operated from our two Mobile Clinics.

Last week at our Elders & Community Health Expo. There was a good turnout from the community. Everyone enjoyed themselves and there were heaps of giveaways for clients to take away. Bega helped raised awareness of Elder Abuse and where you can seek help, we also displayed our programs and upcoming events. Overall it was a good day.
