  • 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 Our Blue Impact feed range is designed to go beyond low-impact feeds and drive change in aquaculture. Blue Impact will focus on reducing our reliance on scarce marine ingredients by opting for raw materials that are both circular and restorative. BioMar considers raw materials originating from by-product and waste streams to be circular. Examples of circular raw materials are land animal by-products, fish meal and fish oil from trimmings industry. We define restorative ingredients as raw materials that significantly shift the balance between ecosystem impacts and human production systems. The goal is to stimulate net-positive environmental outcomes compared to time bound relevant benchmarks. BioMar priorities introducing new nutrient-dense ingredients without competing with human food sources. We seek to decouple feed supply chains from directly competing with food for human consumption. Blue Impact is for circular-thinking farmers dedicated to sustainable aquaculture. Learn More: https://loom.ly/CpfwaOs

  • BioMar’s Blue Impact feed range acts as a catalyst for driving change and goes beyond low-impact feeds. Blue Impact uses three BioSustain Impact Parameters to assess the most critical areas of environmental impact from feed production: 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 - Climate change caused by Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHGs) is one of the biggest threats to the planet and its inhabitants. Carbon footprint is a measure of the cumulative GHG emissions from the lifecycle of a product or service expressed in CO₂ equivalents. 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 & 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 - Global food production is currently operating beyond planetary boundaries for a sustainable future. Aquafeed should therefore be decoupled from environmental degradation and direct competition with human food production. 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨 (𝐅𝐅𝐃𝐑) - Marine ingredients are limited resources that should be used responsibly. The FFDR is a measure of forage fish equivalents utilise to produce one unit of farmed seafood. Learn More: https://loom.ly/CpfwaOs
