Earlier this year, we asked the Blue Knot Community, "As a survivor of complex trauma, what do you value most in your healing and recovery?" Messages of hope throughout all different stages of recovery resonated most. Here are some of the words that reflect your feedback.

This holiday season, we're honoured to offer a gift to everyone in our Blue Knot community - for those of you who have sought our support and those who have provided it during 2024. Your experiences and insights, and your strength and compassion, inspired us to produce a song titled 'Blue Knot' - a song of hope and of healing. It's free to download, but if you'd like to make a donation you can choose to do so. All donations are tax-deductible and help us provide much-needed support during a season that can be challenging for many survivors. Thank you for being part of our Blue Knot community. While social media can be a powerful tool for learning and connecting, it can also feel overwhelming. ISSTD (International Society for Study of Trauma and Dissociation) have published a fact sheet that offers essential tips on how survivors of complex trauma and dissociation can set boundaries and stay safe online. Today is Blue Knot Day, and I’m wearing a blue knot in support of more than 5 million Australian adults affected by complex trauma. I've followed the work of Blue Knot for many years as someone working in the complex trauma space, in the last few years also serving on the Board, most recently as Chair. I continue to be impressed, each and every day, by the amazing work this organisation does in supporting recovery from complex trauma - so many ways in which Blue Knot supports people across all of the advocacy, guidelines, programs, training, supervision, helpline services and resources we provide. The Blue Knot story is one of hope, of community, of recovery and connection. Joining @BlueKnotFoundation community means that you don’t have to do it alone. People can and do recover from complex trauma with the right support. Together we are making healing possible. If you or someone you care about is affected call our Blue Knot Helpline and Redress Support Service on 1300 657 380 between 9am-5pm 7 days a week AEST/AEDT. Today, I wore blue for Blue Knot Day, supporting The Blue Knot Foundation and their incredible work with complex trauma👕🩵 As someone living with C-PTSD, I deeply resonate with Blue Knot’s mission to support and advocate for those affected by complex trauma. Complex trauma is a repeated, ongoing experience that often involves (but not limited to) violence, abuse, neglect, or exploitation, affecting individuals from childhood through adulthood. Thank you, Blue Knot, for fostering hope and empowerment in our communities and providing survivors with vital support and resources. Personally, Hope and Empowerment have been essential pillars in my recovery journey and living alongside my C-PTSD. ✨
