It has been a challenging few years for Regional LGAs.   Across our community benchmarks for overall community satisfaction with Council, the impacts of fires, floods, COVID, staff shortages and general community malaise have seen our benchmark scores drop by almost 10 points since 2019. The biggest declines have been across the last 2 years.   However, there are some highlights. Of the 20 or so regional LGAs we have worked with this year, we have seen some strong results. Congrats for our top three Councils with overall performance scores in the high 80% range.   Our highest scoring regional Councils based on a representative survey are: Ballina Shire Council Cabonne Shire Council AlburyCity What made them standout? It was the 3Cs of Customer experience, Communication and Consultation.   Please contact us if you would like to know more about our extensive regional (and metro) community survey benchmarks, and how they can provide context to your next community satisfaction survey. Congratulations to our Chair, Cr Sue Moore, Mayor Singleton Council who has been appointed Chair of the NSW Joint Organisation Chairs Forum, and to Cr Kevin Beatty, Mayor of Cabonne Shire Council and Chair of Central NSW Joint Organisation, who has been appointed Deputy Chair. These appointments were made at the first meeting of the new term of the NSW JO Chairs Forum at NSW Parliament House last week.   With a statutory mandate under the Local Government Act, Joint Organisations represent local councils and communities right across rural and regional NSW. The Chairs Forum brings together all NSW JO’s, along with other alliances of councils from across NSW. Its purpose is to exchange information on best practice and excellence in the pursuit of strategic regional priorities, joint advocacy and collaboration activities.   Find out more about the JO network and its collaborative efforts: https://lnkd.in/gbjtpZP8 #hunterjo #collaboration #localgovernment
