Shop Mission Beach and Win! Mission Beach CBD Traders Band Together in Shop Local Campaign With major construction of the CBD revitalisation underway, Mission Beach traders have come together to launch a ‘shop local’ campaign that will give away $200 a week for spending in the town centre. The ‘Shop Mission Beach’ campaign was launched this morning at the Village Green, encouraging Cassowary Coast residents to spend local and support businesses through major construction works. Division Three Councillor Trudy Tschui congratulated Mission Beach traders for the initiative, saying business-to-business collaboration and an ethos of ‘spend local’ throughout the community is key to the revitalisation project’s success. “Council can create an aesthetically beautiful space through infrastructure and landscaping, however, it’s the community spirit that will truly be key to success in revitalising the Mission Beach town centre,” Councillor Tschui said. “Seeing our businesses through the construction is vital and I encourage everyone in the Cassowary Coast to take the time and spend local at every opportunity.” To launch the campaign, Council has sponsored a ‘spend and win’ promotion that will see two lucky win a $100 shopping voucher by spending $5 or more in the town centre’s businesses each week. Stay up to date with the 'Shop Mission Beach' by visiting https://lnkd.in/gHj6HqFn or following the ‘Shop Mission Beach’ on Instagram and Facebook. The Shop Mission Beach initiative is proudly supported by Cassowary Coast Regional Council. Read the full media release https://lnkd.in/gQbANS8B... #shopmissionbeach

Mayor Out and About Mayor, Teresa Millwood had the privilege of attending the Australian Local Government Women's Association (ALGWA QLD) conference 2024 in Brisbane, where she joined an inspiring panel including Burdekin Shire Council Mayor Pierena Dalle Cort and Southern Downs Regional Council Mayor Melissa Hamilton. Together, they discussed the legacy, triumphs, and challenges of women in leadership, all while remaining united in the mission to do what’s best for their local communities. There were so many valuable takeaways from the incredible speakers and leaders. A key message Councillor Millwood shared: "We are the elevators of the next generation. Lifting those around us brings everybody up and increases their experience of being included." Let's continue to empower and uplift each other as we pave the way for the future! #WomenInLeadership #CommunityFirst #LegacyAndLeadership
