It costs us $152 a night to provide accommodation to one woman who is experiencing homelessness. But as you know, Catherine House is so much more than a bed for a night. We offer a holistic recovery program to help women with connection, confidence, education, housing, emotional needs, job security and so much more. What Women Hold: A collaborative exhibition of work by artists of Catherine House and The Art Bus, which invites audiences to engage with powerful true stories of women's complex experiences of homelessness. This exhibition celebrates what women hold to feel safe, to thrive, and to be celebrated. These art works are on display at the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery at the University of South Australia until 31 January 2025, we encourage you to attend this powerful exhibition with friends and family. For women experiencing homelessness, it would be so easy to fall into a place of hopelessness when faced with the lack of what many of us would consider basic human rights – safety, a home, food on the table, a job. But the most incredible thing about the women we work with is their resilience. We are inspired daily by their strength and their tenacity as they work to find a better pathway for themselves and their families.
