👏👏👏 Congratulations and thank you to Mark Davie for your exceptional contribution to the Australian Beef Sustainability Framework. Mark is stepping down today from the ABSF Steering Group, which he first joined in 2020 and has chaired since 2021. During that time he has been instrumental in refining the beef industry’s measures of sustainable practice, increasing industry’s engagement in setting sustainability priorities, and enhancing the visibility of the Australian beef industry’s sustainability credentials both across the country and around the world. Demonstrating the beef industry’s land management, community enhancement and animal welfare practices – all key pillars of sustainable beef production – is a top priority for Cattle Australia, and the work Mark and the ABSF team have done has been crucial to our success. Thank you also to ABSF Steering Group members Jenny O’Sullivan, Michael Maxwell and Carl Duncan, who are also stepping down today – your service to our industry has been invaluable. The team at Cattle Australia wish you all the best for your future endeavours! Australian Beef Sustainability Framework Meat & Livestock Australia

What better way to finish off our inaugural conference and producer day, Cattle Connect 2024, than with a sundowner and Meat & Livestock Australia chef Sam Burke’s 'Rare, Medium, Live!' demonstration! More than 500 stakeholders from across the beef supply chain joined us at Bective Station, Tamworth, for a day packed full of knowledge sharing, networking and collaboration. It wouldn’t have been possible without our great sponsors, so thank you to all who partnered with us to bring this wonderful event to life. Cattle Connect 2024 is in full swing and our delegates are having a great time! We kicked off the morning with some insightful conversations about driving beef demand and engaging consumers, Australia’s worst biosecurity threats, and communicating the carbon cycle of cows in everyday language. There’s still more fun to come, with the Australian premiere of the blockbuster documentary ‘World Without Cows’ set to feature after lunch, and Sam Burke’s Rare, Medium, Live! demonstration rounding out the day.
