CheckUP are excited to share our new video campaign Healthcare closer to home. Health services are all too often out of reach for Queenslanders living in rural and remote communities. We’re committed to creating healthier communities and reducing health inequities. With the support of approximately 150 contracted health providers, CheckUP’s Outreach Health Services program delivers a wide range of health services throughout rural and remote Queensland, bringing Healthcare closer to home. Hear from local community members, dedicated Outreach providers and local health facility staff as we collaborate to bring Healthcare closer to home. Watch the full video here ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gQZq8wwu Find out more about CheckUP’s Outreach Health Services program here ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/gACQiKKr We would like to thank the teams from CWAATSICH LTD, Wakai Waian Healing Pty Ltd, Institute for Urban Indigenous Health, Clements Medical and Women’s Health Circle for being part of our video.

About us
CheckUP is an independent not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating healthier communities and reducing health inequities. We pursue this by working collaboratively at the strategic, regional, and local level to lead improvements in health. We design and facilitate the delivery of efficient and effective healthcare solutions. As experts in made-to-order health programs, we connect the right people and organisations to deliver a range of innovative healthcare services for hard-to-reach individuals and communities. We have an established footprint in almost 200 communities across Queensland and the Northern Territory, and our initiatives support people living in rural and remote geographical areas, as well as those with poor access due to social or economic barriers. With the support of up to 150 providers, we aim to increase primary healthcare services in urban, regional, rural, and remote locations throughout Queensland, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We also engage over 30 schools in health-related programs, share innovative ideas through our events, and connect people through networks, including our membership base. Utlising data to understand and advocate for community needs, we are focused on ensuring that everyone has the right to equitable access to health services, regardless of their economic, social, cultural, or geographical circumstances. We know that for this to occur, a capable and sustainable local health workforce must be developed. To support the delivery of our programs and initiatives we have offices in Brisbane, Cairns, and Townsville. OUR VALUES CheckUP has a set of core organisational values which are modelled in all our interactions. Excellence | Collaboration | Innovation | Integrity | Compassion

Disability Action Week: 24 Nov – 1 Dec 2024 🐕 CheckUP Australia participated in a Disability Action Week workshop hosted by Guide Dogs Queensland. Guide Dogs Queensland provided practical strategies to make our communications more accessible—whether in person, via email, or on websites. Thank you for facilitating the workshop Guide Dogs Queensland! 📕 Learn about Disability Action Week here: https://lnkd.in/gsjtr-2n 🐕 A special highlight was meeting gorgeous yellow labrador puppies at the workshop. Guide dogs are remarkable and play a vital role in providing practical support to people who are blind or have low vision to move safely and confidently through their environments. Guide dogs not only provide mobility assistance but also help their handlers gain greater independence and quality of life. 🌞 Take a look at some highlights from the workshop. Our team had an incredible time learning from Guide Dogs Queensland—and spending time with the puppies! #disabilityactionweek2024 #inclusivecommunication #inclusionmatters #accessibilityforall #accessibilityawareness #guidedogsaustralia

Recap | QMHC Leading Reform Summit Thank you Queensland Mental Health Commission for coordinating and providing the opportunity to attend the Summit this week. CheckUP Australia was fortunate to be part of the forum and hear from mental health leaders, people with lived and living experience, carers, frontline clinicians and workers, service providers, policy-makers, funders, planners and decision-makers. The two-day forum was a catalyst to align leaders, develop solutions to problems, introduce new strategies, fuel collaboration, spark ideas, harness the collective knowledge of sector leaders and drive the reform agenda forward. Thank you to all the people who shared and presented over two days. Learn about the speakers here https://lnkd.in/gMKivUcw. It was a privilege to be with QMHC, presenters and attendees to listen, learn, and gain insights on how we can do things differently as we collectively look forward to making meaningful change.
