We won an award at this afternoon's Institute of Public Administration Australia WA (IPAA WA) Achievement Awards for our Smoke-Free Town Centres Project 🙌 The Public Health team took home a silver medal in the Department of Health Award for Best Practice in Health and Wellbeing category. Our 40km/h speed zones and GreenTrack priority assessment service projects were also nominated for awards. Congratulations to all the teams!

We are Team Vincent. We have been around for a little while, since 1994 to be precise.

The City of Vincent encompasses a number of vibrant inner-city suburbs, including North Perth, Leederville, Highgate and Mount Hawthorn, plus parts of East Perth, West Perth, Perth City and Mount Lawley. Riding in tandem with the increasing popularity of inner-city living, Vincent's shopping precincts have thrived and become popular café strips for residents and visitors alike. Vincent's population has also developed into a wonderfully rich melting pot of cultures and nationalities, which has contributed to its unique diversity. With the ongoing support of our residential and business community, visitors to Vincent, council members and staff, the City will continue to thrive and provide a wonderful living and working environment which is the envy of many other local governments. What started as an idea to honour Remembrance Day grew into something even more meaningful. A total of 1,247 flowers were handmade by our community for the Poppy Project. With an increased uptake of electric vehicles in Perth, we will be investigating suitable locations for charging facilities 🚗💡 As part of the underground power program with Western Power, we will be looking at on street options as possible locations for future charging stations. We’ll also work with the Perth Inner City Group to plan for infrastructure across the boundaries so that drivers can charge up anywhere in the inner-city. Banks Reserve is now known as Warndoolier, after Vincent received approval from Landgate for its renaming proposal. We are proud to announce that we have successfully revived the Mt Lawley park’s original Aboriginal name. A big thank you to our Elders, Boordiya Reference Group, Landgate, the Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation and community members who played a big role in the renaming.
