“One of the best aspects of working in this industry is the opportunity for career progression – something I never imagined when I joined Coates 15 years ago as a plastic barrier welder, straight out of high school. After 11 years in Operations, I then moved into Sales. My proudest accomplishments are recently being named Salesperson of the Year in the North BU and participating in the HRIA and ARA exchange program in 2017 where I spent 3 weeks working at two rental companies in the USA. I’m motivated to ‘be my best’ and win business, but I think a good salesperson is reliable and offers real value to customers. I enjoy travelling around Queensland to visit customers, often at mines. I strive to achieve positive outcomes for them by asking questions to better understand their challenges and setting realistic expectations. As a bridge between the customer and Coates, my deep understanding of the business helps me to deliver the best possible experience for them.” Brandon Gilbert Major Account Manager

Thank you for sharing your story, Julie. We're proud to support the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia through the Humpty Dumpty Foundation – your experience highlights the impact of their vital work.
Today, Adrian Manning and I had the privilege of visiting the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) at Brisbane Airport. The Coates Foundation recently donated a Neopuff Resuscitation Device via the Humpty Dumpty Foundation, which will support RFDS’s critical work with newborns and infants in respiratory distress. It was inspiring to tour the facilities and meet some of the dedicated nurses and staff who play an essential role in keeping remote Queensland communities connected to vital healthcare. A special moment was stepping inside one of their planes, which regularly airlifts patients in urgent need. For me, RFDS has a deeply personal significance. When I was 23 ½ weeks pregnant, I was flown to Townsville from Mackay by RFDS due to going into preterm labor. I’ll never forget being onboard (BTW this was also my first time every going on a plane) with another patient experiencing a heart attack and being told to remain calm. Good News after RFDS safely delivered me to Townsville Hospital where the wonderful medical team were able to stop my labor and I then safely delivered by daughter, Akira 9 weeks later at 32.5 weeks. I will always be very grateful to the RFDS and the work they do will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s an honor to support their mission and to know our donation will help more families and newborns in need. Thank you to RFDS and Humpty Dumpty Foundation for the incredible work you do every day. #CoatesFoundation #RFDS #HumptyDumptyFoundation #Coates #CommunitySupport #Queensland

“I’ve been with Coates for just over three years, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how deeply our company values are woven into daily work life. My colleagues truly embody these values, creating a supportive and collaborative environment that I’m proud to be part of. Working in this industry provides a unique opportunity to see the impact we have on the communities we operate in, whether that’s supporting a customer on a major infrastructure project or volunteering for a charity partner through the Coates Foundation. I’m responsible for planning, directing and coordinating our remuneration and benefits activities. A typical day involves preparing for key events like the annual review, analysing incentive outcomes, assessing our gender pay practices and reviewing job descriptions to maintain competitiveness, helping us to retain our talented employees and attract new ones. What I enjoy about my role most is collaborating with my team to ensure our remuneration and benefits positively impact both employees and customers, helping to make Coates a fantastic place to work.” Odette Di Scala Head of Remuneration & Benefits
