For eight years, Cassie channelled her experience as a single mother and carer of a son with cystic fibrosis, autism, and an acquired brain injury, to grow The Carers Place from the ground up into a thriving 7-figure business. 🌟 Meet Our Panellist: Nader Ibrahim 🌟 We’re thrilled to have Nader Ibrahim join us as a panellist for our Business for Good End-of-Year Celebration! 🎉 Nader is a passionate social entrepreneur and the Co-Founder of One Culture Group, a social enterprise breaking barriers and creating opportunities for disadvantaged communities. 👇 Learn more about Nader’s inspiring journey: "Nader Ibrahim, a proud Egyptian immigrant, moved to Australia in 2009 and co-founded the One Culture Group. With a deep passion for community service and a strong commitment to providing opportunities for disadvantaged groups, Nader has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s mission. Now this is a historic moment that is worth celebrating! 🖤💛❤️
Today marks a historic moment for South Australia as the First Nations Voice to Parliament delivered its inaugural address in the Legislative Council chamber at 11am. Leeroy Bilney, Presiding Member of the First Nations Voice to Parliament, presented the address, which signifies a crucial step in the state’s commitment to enhancing Aboriginal governance and representation. The First Nations Voice to Parliament in South Australia has already started contributing to state governance, having provided input on several pieces of legislation. These contributions include feedback on Early Childhood Development and Preventative Health bills. The Voice is also set to offer formal input into the ongoing Royal Commission into Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence. Massive congratulations to the SA First Nations Voice to Parliament Elected Members! #celebratingsuccess #Blakexcellence #Aboriginalvoice

✨ Another fantastic workshop in the Business for Good series! ✨ Today we were lucky to have Kaurna man Tim Graham Welcome us to Country in such a beautiful and informative way, which set us up to talk about the workforce. Mel Blondell did a fantastic job at guiding us through workforce planning, the important differences between employees, contactors and volunteers, compliance matters and recruitment. A dense (and at times daunting!) topic, Mel helped simplify and explain key responsibilities and best practice, leaving all participants with valuable lessons to implement in the near future. "Whatever you do in your business, make it be valuable! If a workforce plan is just a dot point plan, that is enough. Don't overcomplicate it." A special thank you to Marius Liddle for joining us as a Provocateur, providing important insights from a First Nations business lense, and bringing in his experience in First Nations employment and workforce strategy and development. After the workshop we gathered for some chats around a beautiful spread catered by Summit Café, a social enterprise of Community Bridging Services (CBS) Inc.
