🌟 Meet Our Panellist: Nader Ibrahim 🌟 We’re thrilled to have Nader Ibrahim join us as a panellist for our Business for Good End-of-Year Celebration! 🎉 Nader is a passionate social entrepreneur and the Co-Founder of One Culture Group, a social enterprise breaking barriers and creating opportunities for disadvantaged communities. 👇 Learn more about Nader’s inspiring journey: "Nader Ibrahim, a proud Egyptian immigrant, moved to Australia in 2009 and co-founded the One Culture Group. With a deep passion for community service and a strong commitment to providing opportunities for disadvantaged groups, Nader has been instrumental in shaping the organization’s mission. Coming from an underprivileged background, Nader personally experienced the barriers that prevent access to sports and community engagement. This fuelled his desire to create an organization that would provide the opportunities he once lacked. In 2017, alongside his business partner, Nader founded the One Culture Group, a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to making a positive impact in people’s lives through sports, individualized support, and building social connections. One Culture’s programs are inclusive of all ages, cultures, and abilities. Seven years later, the work continues to grow. The impact has broadened, and the need for inclusive services is greater than ever. Nader’s vision to provide access and create positive change remains at the heart of One Culture’s mission." 💡 Don’t miss the chance to hear from Nader and our other incredible panellists about scaling businesses for good on Friday 6th December, 12-2pm. Today marks a historic moment for South Australia as the First Nations Voice to Parliament delivered its inaugural address in the Legislative Council chamber at 11am. Leeroy Bilney, Presiding Member of the First Nations Voice to Parliament, presented the address, which signifies a crucial step in the state’s commitment to enhancing Aboriginal governance and representation. The First Nations Voice to Parliament in South Australia has already started contributing to state governance, having provided input on several pieces of legislation. These contributions include feedback on Early Childhood Development and Preventative Health bills. The Voice is also set to offer formal input into the ongoing Royal Commission into Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence. Massive congratulations to the SA First Nations Voice to Parliament Elected Members! #celebratingsuccess #Blakexcellence #Aboriginalvoice

Happy World Social Enterprise Day to all the amazing changemakers and supporters across our mighty impact community! Today is a day to celebrate and recognise how far social enterprise and business for good has come, and the important role that social enterprises play in building a regenerative economy that values people, planet and profit in equal measure. Collab4Good would like to particularly thanks and acknowledge our First Nations people, the original social entrepreneurs, for showing us the way and generously sharing your 65,000+ years of knowledge with our social enterprise sector. It is a true gift and so full of grace. To all of you who are working so hard to drive positive change through enterprise and collaboration, we thank you and look forward to continuing to walk beside you for many more years to come! #worldsocialenterpriseday2024

✨ Another fantastic workshop in the Business for Good series! ✨ Today we were lucky to have Kaurna man Tim Graham Welcome us to Country in such a beautiful and informative way, which set us up to talk about the workforce. Mel Blondell did a fantastic job at guiding us through workforce planning, the important differences between employees, contactors and volunteers, compliance matters and recruitment. A dense (and at times daunting!) topic, Mel helped simplify and explain key responsibilities and best practice, leaving all participants with valuable lessons to implement in the near future. "Whatever you do in your business, make it be valuable! If a workforce plan is just a dot point plan, that is enough. Don't overcomplicate it." A special thank you to Marius Liddle for joining us as a Provocateur, providing important insights from a First Nations business lense, and bringing in his experience in First Nations employment and workforce strategy and development. After the workshop we gathered for some chats around a beautiful spread catered by Summit Café, a social enterprise of Community Bridging Services (CBS) Inc. Have you heard of CASEI (Council of Australian Social Enterprise Intermediaries)? Born out of the Social Enterprise World Forum 2022 in Brisbane, CASEI is a collective of organisations united by a shared goal: to bolster the growth and development of social enterprises across Australia. The pressing need for a space where intermediaries could share insights, discuss common challenges, and build stronger relationships led to the formation of CASEI. Contrary to being a peak body, CASEI aspires to amplify awareness around the crucial role of intermediaries in enhancing the capabilities of social enterprises. Its mission aligns with the broader objective of harnessing collective wisdom to identify opportunities, overcome challenges, and propel the social enterprise sector forward. Collab4Good is proud to be a founding member of CASEI alongside 13 other social enterprise intermediaries from around Australia, and enjoyed the opportunity to spend some time together at the first in-person CASEI meeting in Sydney on Monday 28th October. We discussed strategies, sector insights, needs and opportunities for how we can work together to offer the best possible developmental support to our Australian social enterprises, and we had the opportunity to share our first piece of work, the 'Five Stages of Social Enterprise Development' at the Social Traders Convene conference the following day. CASEI is an incredible group of people and organisations who are committed to collaboration and the greater good, and who have been the driving backbone of Australia's social enterprise sector over the last decade. Together we can make some pretty incredible things happen and we are excited to be part of it.
