As we move into our final week of production for 2024, we still have a lot of custom concrete pits and cover slabs leaving our yard to be installed across Australia before the end of year. Another custom made High Voltage Pit for the Sydney Metro Rail project to Transport for NSW specification. This included a bell top to support the cover system. A great display of craftsmanship by our production team. This pit was handcrafted from traditional formwork (FRP) and an excellent display of our teams carpentry skills. The Pit internal measures 2000mm x 2000mm encasing the Mascot Engineering 6 part access cover system with removable structural beam to Class D loading. As we continue to the end of year, our pit crew are focusing on encasing our Mascot Engineering ductile iron water and gastight access covers. Whilst many are for projects, we also hold popular sizes and load ratings in stock so they’re on hand when our customers need them. We have a large range to suit all standard pit sizes from 300x300 to 1200x1200 with cover openings to suit in Class B, Class D, Class E and Class G to AS3996:2019 We also manufacture custom precast cover slabs to suit larger pit chambers. Another Sydney Water WWTP custom precast concrete pit with cast in HDPE fittings with water stop. Pit weighs in at just under 16tonne and is manufactured to the project specification. Sustainability was key with for our client on this project... requiring us to meet specific requirements relating to material procurement, reduction in waste and special concrete mix designs all to specification. A great installation shot of our custom 1200mm x 1200mm precast concrete pits with cast in Class G (900kn) Mascot Engineering access cover supplied to Sydney Airport power upgrade. Another impressive Custom Precast concrete “Big Pit” built at our Tomago, Newcastle facility. This custom pit measured 8200mm x 3200mm overall, and just under 35tonne. Designed to support a 33kv kiosk substation that will be placed on top of our custom precast cover slab with access covers. This will enable the contractor to access beneath the substation to turn cables up into the kiosk. More photos to come once installed. We have lift off. 🚀 Our crew just completed loading this 38tonne high voltage custom precast concrete cable pit measuring 3500mm x 6500mm overall all in preparation to make its journey to site tomorrow. This all comes together with our Operations & Logistics teams collaborative working relationship with our engineer in design/consultation, our customer, the customers client, to our transport partner and crane supplier to ensure a smooth transition to for loading and transportation to site. Early morning lifts. ☀️ ☀️ Our team are all eyes on this lift to ensure perfect placement onto our flat bed trailer. This was another large pit leaving our production facility for its journey into Sydney to meet our clients installation deadline. Next week we have approximately 130tonne of products being loaded out, our heaviest lift being just under 40tonne including Mascot Engineering multipart access cover systems preencased for easy installation. Mining Site switchroom pit and cover system. Our team was engaged to design and certify a switchroom pit under a mezzanine level to allow cabling to upturn and exit the pit into the switch room and other areas of the building for a Mining site upgrade. The cover system we designed and fabricated was a 6 GMS with 3 galvanised removable beams - the opening was 1600mm x 2600mm. Our Mascot Engineering metal fabrication team and concrete production team collaborated together from two different plants to ensure smooth transition from cover assembly to encasement in concrete.
