Another great event, this time for TLC Impact, kindly hosted at LGT Crestone Wealth Management Limited   TLC Impact is a new revolutionary NFP focused on access, opportunity and choice for people who live with disability.  It is a social enterprise that is launching cafes that employ people with a disability and its own branded range of coffee and snack food products on supermarket shelves These initiatives will also raise finances for its foundation which is focused on delivering accessible, meaningful employment opportunities for people who live with a disability, including physical, intellectual, and mental. Yesterday we had a great event at UBS to discuss mergers and consolidation in the NFP sector. The Youth Impact Foundation delivers the leading merger model for the NFP sector to ensure impact is enhanced via efficiencies and service improvement driven by consolidation. Their focus is currently on youth but the model will be applicable far more broadly. Their CEO, Andy Skidmore, was joined on a panel by Peter Mason, Chair of the UBS Optimus Foundation in Australia and Nick Hughes, co-country head of @UBS. Susan Sy lead the panel to garner insight into consolidation with both a for-profit and not-for-profit lense. We were joined by leaders in M&A, philanthropy, financial markets and more. CM2 has partnered with 24 Hour Business Plan Plan to work with NFPs to develop practical and manageable business and marketing plans that supercharge their impact.   We are excited to announce our first dual-engagement with Canteen Australia. 24hrbp will develop the multi-year marketing plan and CM2 will then assist in executing various elements of that plan. Canteen has been providing life-changing support for young people impacted by cancer for almost forty years. They get young people through a world turned upside down by cancer by providing life-saving medical treatment, specialised counselling and programs where young people can connect with others who get it because they've been through it too. Dry July Foundation has successfully run their annual peer-to-peer campaign, raising approximately $100m since launch to support Australia’s leading cancer focused NFPs to provide invaluable services to cancer patients, their families and carers. It is very exciting to see them expand their focus to start driving annual support of these beneficiary NFPs with the launch of their National Cancer Appeal.

CM2 recently had the privilege of attending three insightful boardroom lunches with our nonprofit partners: Life Ed NSW/ACT, The Shepherd Centre, and The Kids' Cancer Project. The first event was hosted by UBS in honor of the 25th anniversary of the UBS Optimus Foundation. UBS brought together the CEOs of two of their nonprofit partners, Jono Peatfield from Life Education NSW and Suzie Riddell from Social Ventures Australia. They engaged in a thought-provoking discussion on driving impact for Australia's most vulnerable children. Peter Mason, chair of the foundation, and Susan Sy, head of philanthropy, provided context and facilitated the conversation. The Shepherd Centre’s CEO, Dr Aleisha Davis, was joined by former Prime Minister The Hon John Howard OM AC and Olivia Andersen, Founder and Ambassador of Hear for You. Their conversation highlighted the remarkable efforts to support individuals with hearing loss and their families. Lastly, Bartier Perry Pty Limited hosted an event for The Kids Cancer Project, bringing together both long-time supporters and new allies. @Col reynolds OAM, who founded The Kids Cancer Project in the 1980s after being inspired by the sight of two young children with cancer, shared his journey. Despite the heartbreak of attending 60 funerals of young children, Reynolds has raised $70 million, contributing to the prevention of thousands of deaths. His legacy promises to continue impacting many more lives.   Dr. Kenny Ip, a recipient of The Kids Cancer Projects, Col Reynolds Fellowships and a leading Molecular Neuroscientist, shared insights into his groundbreaking research. It was clear that under his expertise, the leadership of Owen Finegan, and the inspired vision of Col Reynolds, the future of cancer research is in capable hands. On Tuesday 17th September we are proud to be a matching partner on The Kids' Cancer Project Better Challenge thanks to Rob Keldoulis. Here are some very sobering & some inspiring facts: ·       Three children are diagnosed with cancer every day in Australia. ·       Three children die from cancer every week in Australia, that’s over 900 per year. ·       Cancer is the biggest killer of children in Australia. ·       Thanks to research, the average survival rate for childhood cancers is now 86% - compared to just 10% in 1950. 🙌 ·       Some cancers are still incurable. ·       Almost all cancer treatments leave survivors with lifelong side effects and health issues. ·       The average age of a child diagnosed with cancer is six. ·       The Kids’ Cancer Project has been around for 30 years. 💓 ·       The Kids’ Cancer Project’s mission is to provide the funding researchers need to develop more effective cancer treatments, eradicate harmful side effects and achieve a 100% survival rate of childhood cancer. 💪 ·       Over its’ 30-year existence, The Kids’ Cancer Project has committed over $70 million dollars to childhood cancer research. 👏 ·       $54 could fund a researcher for one hour as they work to develop lifesaving new kids’ cancer treatments.
