McKinsey & Company just released their State of Fashion 2025 Report. Below are some key takeaways surrounding the challenges and triumphs which the fashion industry is expected to witness over the next year. 📈 Stagnating Growth As a result of the recent period of high inflation and cyclical downturn, consumers are becoming increasingly price sensitive. Fashion leaders were polled in McKinsey’s annual executive summary and just 20% expected improvements in consumer sentiment, while 39% saw industry conditions worsening in 2025. 🛍️ Global Trade and shopping Supply chains are becoming increasingly agile in an effort to reduce inventory and minimise the risk of shortfalls. Consumers are beginning to return to greater amounts of in-store shopping at pre-pandemic levels across much of the world. E-commerce players are now advised to leverage new avenues to help customers discover their brands. 🌍 Climate Concerns The climate crisis is becoming an increasingly potent force in global markets, effecting supply chains and consumer behaviour. Where once consumers were willing to pay more for sustainably produced clothes, this sentiment does not look as promising moving in 2025. Instead, many are now choosing to prioritise value, resale and off-price segments. However, businesses who make the elective decision to include sustainability in their business model will be rewarded long-term and maintain a competitive advantage At DAPPA, our app is designed to keep up with users shifting fashion consumption habits. Our newly added explore feature allows users to instantly save their favourite garments to their wardrobe for later, whilst our VTON technology ensures users can try on any garment, including new and resale items ♻️ DAPPA allows users greater control and confidence, making shopping for clothes a seamless experience 🪡

The future of fashion is digital📱 The fashion industry is paving the way in the digital sphere and is set to further expand in 2025 and beyond 💫 With a myriad of technological, sustainable and social changes, the fashion industry is ripe with innovation and movement. Below are three exciting developments in 2025 and beyond! 🖨️ 3D printing: Whilst 3D printing is not a new development, it is only set to improve with advancements in more complete and technically refined machinery. 3D printing allows for prototypes to be developed faster and cheaper. Additionally, additive manufacturing enables companies to manufacture clothes faster and with greater customisation, helping to produce garments which more accurately fit the needs of consumers. 👩🏼💻 Digital Runways: As a result of COVID-19 and the shift towards virtual shows, digital runways are becoming more prevalent as a way to connect with the increasing ‘stay-at-home’ audience. Digital runways mirror the rise in online trade shows and showrooms as companies look to include larger audiences in their exhibitions. 🤖 Virtual Clothes: Virtual fashion applications like DAPPA are being embraced by consumers worldwide. With the ability to shop and wear clothes virtually, users can save time shopping and reduce frivolous purchases. E-commerce shoppers account for nearly 65% of Australia’s population. And with applications like DAPPA only improving in accuracy, accessibility and precision, users are only set to experience greater freedoms in how they shop for clothes. The Fast Fashion industry is one of the largest in the world 🌏 It employs more than 75 million people and is responsible for producing 10% of global C02 emissions (Worldbank). And whilst combatting the issue is different due its prevalence, one thing is clear: fashion producers want to change. H&M have committed to a 56% reduction in emissions and a 100% renewable energy target by 2030. Other major brands like Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger are also focused on reducing their environmental impact and are aiming to comply with more environmental and safety regulations. ♻️ The secret to helping fix the issue ? AI 🦾 1. AI powered services like big data and machine learning models can reduce repetitive and standardised tasks, while also calculating emissions, carbon footprints and identifying risk factors. According to Professor Akter, a researcher at the UNSW, “AI-powered climate service innovation can improve environmental performance in terms of energy efficiency, reduction of wastage, optimum consumption of natural resources and sustainable eco-design.” 2. Applications like DAPPA can also help reduce the impact of the fashion industry. By using AI and Virtual-Try-On (VTON) to enable customers to upload clothes already in their wardrobes, DAPPA can help users to be more conscientious and selective with their outfit choices. Want to try it out for yourself and help contribute to a sustainable future ? 🌳 DAPPA is officially available on IOS and Google Play - make sure to try it out for yourself !

𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬: You’ve just spent two hours browsing and trying on clothes, only to end up with just two outfits that you know you won’t buy. Sound familiar? We’re purchasing more clothes than ever before. In the last 15 years, clothing consumption has surged by more than 60%. Yet, people are only wearing about 40% of what’s in their wardrobe according to Clean Up Australia Ltd. The Australian Fashion Council (AFC) estimated that from 2018 - 2019, Australians purchased an average of 56 items of clothing. In a world fuelled by e-commerce and mass options, consumers now have the ability to shop for thousands of different outfits in a myriad of different shapes, sizes and colours. However, most of these items 𝐠𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝 or are 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬. 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐲 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐀 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐩. DAPPA Clip is a free 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 designed to help you 𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐬 and make 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬. A key reason why shoppers overbuy clothes online is their inability to effectively see how clothes will look on themselves. DAPPA Clip changes this by allowing shoppers to drag-and-drop items which they find online, onto models of their choice ! Curious ? Download DAPPA Clip now ! What comes to mind when you hear the word “AI” ? ChatGPT ? Grammarly ? Maybe even The Terminator ? AI has become a defining feature of the 21st century, permeating throughout every industry and becoming entrenched in our daily lives 🧑💻 It is transforming the way we live, work and even dress. According to McKinsey & Company, generative AI could add up to $275 billion to the operating profits of the apparel, fashion and luxury sectors. AI is revolutionising the fashion industry - from merchandising and supply chain logistics, to marketing and digital commerce. Whilst some fear that AI may lead to less originality, the reality is quite the opposite. AI can enhance creativity by providing personalised recommendations - just like DAPPA does - to assist people in expressing their unique styles and tastes. Our latest product - 𝐃𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐀 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐩 - is just the beginning. With 𝐃𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐀 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐩, users can try on clothes with a simple drag and drop on their web browser, saving time, money and energy. By using Virtual Try-On (VTON) and Generative AI, we are trying to create a seamless customer experience designed to help people shop smarter, not harder. Want to find out more ?
