Honouring sailor's courage and sacrifice ❤️ The Australian Navy Cadets Training Ship Mersey has been renamed Training Ship Sheean to honour the sacrifice of the late Ordinary Seaman Edward ‘Teddy’ Sheean, VC, in World War 2. A time-honoured tradition 👏 HMAS Canberra (III) exercised its Freedom of Entry through the City of Canberra by marching through the streets in a tradition that dates back to medieval times. At the conclusion of the parade, a reception was held at Glebe Park, followed by a private tour of the Australian War Memorial and a wreath laying during a Last Post Ceremony. An Australian Army soldier presumed to have been killed in the Korean War’s battle of Kapyong on April 24, 1951, is the subject of a new search by South Korea’s Ministry of National Defence (MND) and the ADF.
