As we launch into 2025 and begin to plot and plan for the year ahead, it is timely to remind ourselves of Tourism Tasmania's three key audience segments; Positive Impact Travellers, Conscious Adventurers and Discoverers. These key target segments were identified following a comprehensive research study of Australian leisure travellers to inform the future focus of Tourism Tasmania's marketing activity. We will be joined by Lindene Cleary, Chief Marketing Officer at Tourism Tasmania, who will share some insights into the travel motivations and values of each of these target segments. We will also discuss how these profiles align with Tasmania's Come Down For Air brand and present an opportunity for the health and wellness sector. Congratulations to the Tasmanian Transport Museum on the successful recommissioning of the iconic Locomotive M5, retired in 2019 and now back in service after an extensive overhaul. This incredible achievement was made possible by a $100,000 Australian Government grant, enabling crucial repairs and upgrades, including new tyres, bearings, and more. The well-attended media launch was a testament to the community’s excitement and support for this historic milestone. Special thanks to Senator the Hon Carol Brown and Mr Andrew Wilkie MP for officiating the event and showing their support.
