  • February Tips and Tipples Networking Event. Join us for our first industry networking event for 2025 at Lavada, Hobart's luxury day spa. As we launch into 2025 and begin to plot and plan for the year ahead, it is timely to remind ourselves of Tourism Tasmania's three key audience segments; Positive Impact Travellers, Conscious Adventurers and Discoverers. These key target segments were identified following a comprehensive research study of Australian leisure travellers to inform the future focus of Tourism Tasmania's marketing activity. We will be joined by Lindene Cleary, Chief Marketing Officer at Tourism Tasmania, who will share some insights into the travel motivations and values of each of these target segments. We will also discuss how these profiles align with Tasmania's Come Down For Air brand and present an opportunity for the health and wellness sector. The team at Lavada have also generously offered an incredible lucky door prize, 'The Weary Traveller' Spa Journey to be won on the night! 🕙 Wednesday 26th February, 2025, 4.30pm - 6.30pm For event bookings, visit: https://lnkd.in/gidzEsaj DST is able to deliver Tips and Tipples events to our members free of charge as part of their membership benefits package, however, if you are not a partner or financial member of DST and would like to come, or if you are a member and would like to bring a guest, please contact us. Please let us know if you have any specific access requirements.

  • DST recently had the pleasure of catching up with Taylor and the team from Huon River Cruises to experience their exceptional river cruise first-hand. We cruised up the Huon River to Franklin, taking in the scenery while Taylor shared stories and insights into the rich history of Franklin and this iconic waterway. For those looking to explore Southern Tasmania from a new perspective, Huon River Cruises offers a relaxed experience, complete with delicious local produce, wine, and cider. A huge thank you to Taylor for a very enjoyable catch up! https://lnkd.in/gazphgXb #HuonRiverCruises #HuonValley #SouthernTasmania

  • Congratulations to the Tasmanian Transport Museum on the successful recommissioning of the iconic Locomotive M5, retired in 2019 and now back in service after an extensive overhaul. This incredible achievement was made possible by a $100,000 Australian Government grant, enabling crucial repairs and upgrades, including new tyres, bearings, and more. The well-attended media launch was a testament to the community’s excitement and support for this historic milestone. Special thanks to Senator the Hon Carol Brown and Mr Andrew Wilkie MP for officiating the event and showing their support. Here’s to the next chapter of rail heritage in Southern Tasmania, with plans to extend the line to Berriedale, Chigwell, and beyond! 🚂 #TasmanianTransportMuseum #LocomotiveM5 #SteamTrainRevival #TasmaniaHeritage
