In collaboration with the Horizon Construction Services team, Detail Studio is proud to deliver the new Administration Building for the St Joseph's School community in Ottoway. Designed with future expansion in mind, the building is poised to accommodate the potential addition of a second storey. It includes a welcoming reception area, staff room and amenities, offices, a sick room, and a Parent Centre for community gatherings. Additionally, there are dedicated educational breakout spaces for focused learning groups.

Designed with stack-bond brickwork and sculptform cladding, the structure creates a bold and welcoming presence for the school’s entry. Future-ready, this building also includes provisions for an additional floor, making it adaptable to the school’s growth. Creativity and innovation are woven into every aspect of the theatre's design, from the fluidity of the seating arrangements to the dynamic movement reflected in the timber batten design on the walls. The auditorium, while traditional in its shape for acoustic purposes, is transformed into a modern marvel with its acoustically designed timber batten cladding and multipurpose performance stage. The timber batten design reflects movement and flow, which is both visually striking and acoustically functional. The successful outcome of the design of the beautiful timber battens was the result of the partnership with the design team, Sculptform and the contactor, to ensure that this significant design element was executed expertly. Central to the theatre's vision is the authentic partnership with the Kaurna people, honouring Indigenous narratives and connections to the local landscape.

Happy opening weekend to our friends at Vinteloper Adelaide Hills! We feel privileged to have been the architects for this project; to see the House of Vinteloper lovingly re-birthed and re-imagined from the ashes after the devastating 2019 bushfires. By preserving the charm of the original farmhouse while creating a contemporary cellar door and venue that highlights the stunning vistas of the surrounding landscape, the Vinteloper Rebuild stands as a testament to the resilience of the local community and provides a welcoming space in the hills for all to experience and appreciate.

With cricket season on the horizon, we can think of no better time to showcase the recently-completed Harris Head Big Shed project 🏏 Named after former Australian Test bowler and current South Australian Cricket coach Ryan Harris, along with Australian cricketer Travis Head, both alumni of the College, the Big Shed now serves as a versatile space for the entire Trinity community.

Yesterday, our team took R U Ok Day to the streets. With coffees in hand, we stepped away from our screens and spent some of the morning walking through the sunshine of Veale Gardens. One of our core values as a studio is that 'people matter' and days like this serve to remind us why we value the relationships we have with one another. Here's to making sure every day is an opportunity to check in with those you care about ✨

This month marks ten years of service for our Senior Associate Michael 🎉 Having worked both locally and internationally, Michael brings a high level of dedication, a teamwork approach and problem-solving skills to every project. With an innate ability to listen, his passion for good design outcomes results in final projects that exceed the brief and clients who enjoy the experience along the way. In the studio, he is always the first to help when there’s a deadline, caffeinate his co-workers and make someone laugh multiple times a day! Thank you Michael for being an integral part of our team.
