About us
Diabetes Victoria is the leading charity and peak consumer body working to reduce the impact of diabetes in the Victorian community. With almost 370,000 Victorians living with diabetes, our work has never been more important. Our mission is to support, empower and campaign for all Victorians affected by diabetes. We are committed to minimising the impact of diabetes in the community, helping all people affected by diabetes and contributing to the search for a cure. We rely heavily on the generosity of our caring community of members and supporters through donations and bequests to fund our diabetes education, awareness activities and research. Our work supports people living with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes, as well as programs for people at risk of developing the condition. Our offices are on the traditional land of Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country in Melbourne CBD and Campbellfield, Victoria. Diabetes Victoria acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands and pays respect to their Elders, past and present.

Great to see the The Life! program in action at the GPCE (General Practice Conference & Exhibition) over the weekend! 👏 The team connected with thousands of health professionals, sharing how the program supports GPs and their patients. Excited about the new opportunities for collaboration in the healthcare space! 💙 #LifeProgram #GPCE #HealthPrevention
Over the weekend Life! attended the General Practice Conference and Exhibition (GPCE) together with one of our providers, ‘Lifestyle as Medicine’ at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event was attended by over 3000 health professionals and 250 other exhibitors in the healthcare space. It was encouraging that many GPs we spoke to had already heard about the Life! program, were keen to find out more and learn how to refer their patients. 🤜🤛 We also enjoyed networking with other organisations in the sector to discuss opportunities for collaboration. Because together, we are stronger. 💪 Find out more about the Life! I’m thrilled to share the incredible success of the 11th Annual Diabetes Charity Fun Walk held in Mt Martha, where over 200 participants came together under beautiful sunshine for a cause that impacts so many. It was truly heartwarming to witness the support from our community and to see the generosity shine through in every detail of the day. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the 30+ volunteers, including those from Padua College and Balcombe Grammar School, who dedicated their time and energy. Their commitment, along with the support from local businesses, made this event not only memorable but impactful. This year, Be Fit Food were honored to partner with Diabetes Victoria with all funds raised going towards critical diabetes research, education, prevention, management, and, ultimately, the search for a cure for both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. Attendees also had access to invaluable health services, including diabetes risk assessments and spin-to-win games from The team Diabetes Victoria and onsite heart checks with cardiologists and health professionals from Advara HeartCare who provided ECGs, blood pressure, and heart rate checks at no cost. Thanks to our generous sponsors and community, we raised over $6,000. A special shoutout to our major sponsors: Belle Property Advara HeartCare and Mornington Mazda and a big thank you to Mount Martha Village Clinic for supporting with billboard space out the front of their prominently positioned clinics too. We couldn’t have achieved this without the kindness and generosity of everyone involved, including additional supporters: Swisse Wellness (part of H&H Group) Panda Blairgowrie , Peninsula Hot Springs Vively Health , Clarity Dental Care, Recovery Lab Australia Mornington, KX Pilates Mornington, The Sports Injury Clinic, Natural Raw C , Bodbase STRONG Pilates Mornington, Salon Envy Mornington, Chemist Warehouse Mornington, , The Corner Counter Mornington, and many others who contributed their time, products, and goodwill. Thank you for making this event such a success! #Diabetes #DiabetesVictoria #BeFitFood

Thank you to the staff and volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to this amazing initiative and for helping to bring this event to life. 🙌 Thank you also to the sponsors, raffle prize donors and volunteers for their generous involvement.
