Last week, we hosted an event in our Sydney office to discuss how employee ownership can contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable economy. Graeme Nuttall OBE, a key figure in shaping the UK’s employee ownership framework, shared insights on how Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs) can create lasting value and strengthen communities. Alison Holloway, CEO of SGS and Director of the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM), discussed SGS’s experience as an employee-owned business and the potential for expanding EOTs in Australia. Patrick Fensham, SGS Principal and Partner and an expert in Community Wealth Building, explained how this approach works alongside employee ownership by promoting long-term economic resilience.
