It’s been a week since our biggest and best eoa Annual Conference to date. And it’s taken that long to read all the incredible feedback we’ve received. Our biggest takeaway is that while we’re the conveners… YOU are the engine of both the conference and the EO sector at large. So, instead of telling you what we thought, we’ve put an inspiring post-conference blog together filled with your takeaways. From inspiring keynotes and wanting to feel special to culture and the courage needed to commit to purpose – it’s all included. Check out the full blog for more. ➡️https://lnkd.in/gXnCn5ai Remember to save the date for 2025. The eoa Annual Conference returns on the 25-26 November at the Telford International Centre. #eoaAnnualConference #Purpose #Culture #Business

Following publication of the welcome draft EOT legislation, we’ve been digging into the detail to create a response and set of recommendations. This response has been developed with input from all our Special Advisors (Baxendale Employee Ownership, Brabners, Fieldfisher, The RM2 Partnership Ltd, Wrigleys Solicitors), RVE Corporate Finance, Graeme Nuttall OBE, as well as insights shared on the eo Hub. The draft legislation has already had its first and second reading in the house and will be reviewed by the Committee of the whole house from 10 December. 🔗https://lnkd.in/gx8_hEvb We’ll continue to liaise with HMRC officials and engage with MPs though the final stages. Join the conversation over on the eo Hub. #Legislation #Policy #Business #EmployeeOwnership #EOT

Guess what? As an employee owned business, you’re also a Robust Growth Champion. Okay, so what does that mean? Well, EO businesses are building a resilient growth economy. The sector has a significantly higher percentage of businesses that have delivered 10%+ growth in sales, profit, or headcount… While demonstrating lower insolvency over the last 5 years. That’s the headline finding from a new report produced by eoa Supporter member ThinCats in partnership with the eoa and Ownership at Work. The report puts the findings of the groundbreaking EO Knowledge Programme ‘People Powered Growth’ report to the test. The scale of comparison is unprecedented. 300+ EOBs were compared to 15,000+ matched non-EOBs. It found that EOBs are: ✅More likely to generate profit ✅More likely to be ‘robust growth champions’ ✅At lower risk of insolvency than non-EOBs It’s clear that by helping businesses be more successful and resilient through adopting Great EO practices, EO is driving stronger economic growth. And the results further legitimise the UK’s rapidly expanding EO sector. Read the full report now: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eERtBNTK Our Chief Exec James de le Vingne said: “I hope this report serves as a valuable resource for stakeholders across the spectrum: business leaders, policymakers, and advocates – who are eager to explore and harness the transformative potential; employee ownership presents.” #Business #Growth #EmployeeOwnership #Economy #Finance

Treat your business to an early Christmas present this December. Book onto our last ‘How to be an Effective Employee Trustee / Director’ course on the year to learn: 📈 How to maximise your performance 📄 Your duties, obligations, and legal responsibilities 🔍 How to interpret financial trust and operational reports 🫂 How to nurture an effective EO culture ⚙️ Different forms of EO structures If you’re a newly appointed or existing employee trustee / director, consider this course a best practice step to becoming your very best. It’s not only an amazing personal development opportunity. Your whole business will reap the benefits. Taught by EO veteran Ken Lindsay, you’ll soon be recommending every new trustee enrols. Just like Ecctis Ltd did: After completing the course, Rachel Hollister-Short and Alice Crowe said: 📢 “We would both highly recommend this course to anyone who has been recently elected as an employee trustee – it really is invaluable and a great starting point to increase your understanding.” 📢 “We fed back to the trustee board that we think this course should be mandatory for anybody going forward for when we step back after our three-year term.” Make Christmas come early and book onto the course kicking off on Dec 2. ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eDiEP35H #Culture #PersonalDevelopment #Business #Finance #EmployeeOwnership

What an incredible final keynote to finish off this year’s eoa Annual Conference. Employee ownership is a force for good. And here’s the proof. A chance meeting between a Colombian nun and a man from Kent 30 years ago sparked something extraordinary. By making the Mikalina Foundation part of the group transition to EO, Páramo Directional Clothing has helped empower over 10,000 women with: ✅ Stable jobs with fair pay ✅ Education and training to change their futures ✅ A voice in their workplace This is a mission to uplift women from poverty and exploitation, helping them regain their identities and inspire even more women. Here’s what happen when profit isn’t the only priority. By evolving what’s possible with EO – especially on a global scale – Paramo proves that a better world is possible. A huge thank you to Claudia and Sandra who came all the way from Columbia to share their inspiring stories. #eoaAnnualConference

“Customer experience is the new business battleground” For the second keynote of the eoa Annual Conference, Jonathan Winchester, CEO of insight6, wasn’t here to make bold claims. He had plenty of data to back it up. This funny, practical, and sobering session provided delegates plenty to think on. In fact, Jonathan promised everyone would walk out with 4-5 actions to improve their customer experience (CX) So, what were your key takeaways? Maybe it was one of his CX secrets… Like the significant rise in CX from name badges. Or maybe key questions to ask yourself, like how to think through your customer’s eyes. No doubt the ‘Big Reveal’ will stick with you for a long time. 60 businesses in the room discovered there and then they’d been mystery shopped on their CX. The results were incredibly insightful and provide a perfect springboard to supercharge CX. And always remember – follow up! It’s an excellent CX strategy when done right. #eoaAnnualConference #CustomerExperince #CX
