  • 🌟 Team Spotlight: Meet Florencia Djelardini🌟 We’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on Flor Djelardini, our incredible Project Manager - Team Lead, whose love for languages and lifelong learning makes her a true asset to our team. Originally from Argentina, Flor has a deep connection to her culture and often shares captivating stories that give us all a taste of Argentinian life. Her passion for languages took off in an unexpected way—while watching films, Flor realised she was more fascinated by the subtitles than the storyline! That’s when she knew she wanted to help connect the world through language. A graduate of the University of Buenos Aires, Flor has built an impressive career as a translator and audiovisual project manager across Argentina, the US, and Australia. But for Flor, learning never stops: 🗣 “I would not say my education is complete. I constantly keep taking courses to learn about new things, and I plan to keep doing so for the rest of my life.” 📚 Flor, your passion, leadership, and relentless drive to grow inspire us every day. We’re lucky to have you on the team! 👏 Drop a comment to celebrate Flor and her amazing journey! 🎉

  • Last week, Ethnolink’s Rachael Adams, Madeleine Simpson, and Vibha Iyengar proudly attended the launch of the Butterfly Foundation’s ‘Let’s Talk Eating Disorders: Support and Resources in Arabic’ campaign. This impactful initiative, created in partnership with Ethnolink, aims to raise awareness, break down stigma, and encourage help-seeking behaviour among Arabic-speaking community members affected by eating disorders. The event was opened by Maria Vamvakinou MP (Federal Member of Parliament for Calwell) and featured an engaging Q&A session with Ayman Islam (Executive Officer, Centre for Muslim Wellbeing), Katey Ahmed (Director, Australian Multicultural Community Centre Limited), and representatives from Butterfly. Centred around the theme ‘Let’s Talk Eating Disorders,’ the discussion highlighted how important it is to empower communities to speak about their struggles and access the support they need — which is now easier thanks to the campaign’s culturally and linguistically inclusive Arabic resources. Congratulations to the Butterfly Foundation for hosting such a fantastic event and bringing together incredible partners and supporters for this vital initiative. #translation #multicultural #communications #CALD

  • 🌟 Team Spotlight: Meet Jake Salotti! 🌟 Jake Salotti is Ethnolink’s Indigenous Languages Adviser, and his journey to this role is as inspiring as the work he does every day. With a background in managing major government projects and contracts in civil construction, Jake’s career took a meaningful turn in 2019 when he discovered a passion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages. This passion led him to play a key role in establishing South Australia’s first Indigenous language interpreting and translation service—an achievement that continues to make a lasting impact on communities. At Ethnolink, Jake brings this expertise to advancing projects that connect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with information in their own languages. His work spans diverse initiatives, from projects with Services Australia and the Australian Electoral Commission to meaningful collaborations with not-for-profit organisations such as Jean Hailes. Jake supports clients by providing guidance on culturally respectful engagement with First Nations communities and recommending the most effective languages to connect with community members in their language. Thank you, Jake, for championing such vital work and ensuring that language remains a bridge, not a barrier.
