Updates

  • For the past nine months, European Energy and the First Nations Bailai, Gurang, Gooreng Gooreng & Taribelang Bunda Peoples Development Corporation have been collaborating on renewable energy opportunities on traditional country. At this week's First Nations Chamber of Commerce and Industry Summit ‘24, the two parties showcased that they are developing a wind farm in the Gladstone State Development Area. The wind farm could generate up to 250MW of clean green energy into the energy intensive Gladstone region, reducing carbon emissions by over 5m tonnes yearly and attracting additional investment and jobs. European Energy Australia expands with two more solar farms, acquired from OX2 We acquired the Lancaster Solar Farm (106 MWp) in Victoria and the Mulwala Solar Farm (31 MWp) in New South Wales from OX2. These two solar farms will produce 255 GWh annually, enough to power 54,000 Australian homes. Construction is set to begin in 2025, and both farms will be operational in 2026. These projects are part of European Energy’s growing pipeline in Australia, which now exceeds 5 GW in development!   With our strong local team, we are committed to bringing these farms into operation, contributing to increased renewable energy in the grid and creating more opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Highlights include: - Strategic Partnership with Mitsubishi HC Capital: Mitsubishi HC Capital acquired 20% of our shares, infusing the company with EUR 700 million. - Major Power Purchase Agreement with Rio Tinto: Supplying renewable energy from our 1.1 GW Upper Calliope Solar Farm in Australia. - Collaborative Agreement with TotalEnergies: Developing offshore wind projects in Denmark, Finland, and Sweden. For the full report: https://lnkd.in/d2fhEXwu We expect to initiate new construction activities of over 1 GW in 2024. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to lead in renewable energy!

  • Today is International Biodiversity Day!   As a forward-thinking renewable energy company, we recognize the vital role that biodiversity plays in maintaining a healthy planet. Today, on Biodiversity Day, we want to share our commitment to protecting and enhancing the natural world while advancing clean energy solutions.   The world is facing both a crisis of climate change, and of biodiversity loss 🌱 Our industry and our generation have a responsibility to act now, on all fronts 🌏   European Energy is committed to enshrining the protection and restoration of ecosystems into our operations across all markets. As we take steps to maximise our efforts at having a net-positive impact on biodiversity restoration, we have established a Biodiversity and Ecosystems Policy this year. This is just another step towards our long-time goal of prioritising an industry leading approach to biodiversity management. We strive to go beyond the "Do No Significant Harm" benchmark, to make biodiversity and ecosystems services a key focus of our business.    At a project level, this means an increased focus on sustainable land and sea-use, biodiversity restoration initiatives and nature-inclusive design. We look to work with local stakeholders including authorities, communities and Traditional Owners to best approach this critical challenge (and opportunity!), in the Australian Landscape.

  • It was fantastic to have a visit from our Danish colleagues this month, as construction ramps up at Mokoan Solar Farm. Our Vice President and Head of Project Execution Morten von Barner, as well as Planning Manager Maja Demirci travelled Down Under to support the Australian teams' work on this exciting project. We're looking forward to having you back soon!
