Congratulations to Blake Edwards on his incredible hole-in-one on the 9th hole this weekend! ⛳️ This is Blake's second ace on the same hole, proving just how lucky (and skilled!) he is. "I had an ace once before on the same hole a couple of years ago with the pin in the SAME place! I hit a wedge into the wind, it flew 10 feet past the hole and spun back in. I texted my wife and family first. It's an amazing feeling to have a hole in one, especially when you see spin back in." What an amazing achievement! 👏⛳

Congratulations to staff member Ashley Hall who claimed victory at the 2024 Victorian PGA Foursomes Championship. On Tuesday, 24th September, Southern Golf Club hosted 60 PGA Professionals competing for the prestigious 'Bob Shearer Shield' at the 2024 Victorian PGA Foursomes Championship. Playing under the more relaxed 'Canadian Foursomes' format, Ash and his partner Ben Ford from Medway Golf Club delivered an impressive -8, 64 to secure the win. The pair got off to a strong start, birdieing the first two holes and maintaining momentum with flawless, mistake-free golf. Kathy Shearer, wife of the late Bob Shearer, was present to award the shield.

Swap Day ⛳ Earlier this week, Green Acres co-hosted a Swap Day with The Kew Golf Club, featuring both men’s and women’s competitions. The women enjoyed perfect weather, while the men faced challenging conditions due to heavy rain, which caused the morning field to be abandoned. Despite this, the afternoon players pressed on, and it turned into a great day. Over 300 Green Acres members headed to Kew, while 240 Kew members played at Green Acres. The large turnout demonstrates the popularity of this event, and we look forward to next year’s Swap Day⛳

What a perfect day for a round of golf, with the temperature already at 15°C and the stunning view of our 18th hole ahead. This par 4, 330m final hole offers a thrilling challenge, with a narrow fairway and a subtle uphill curve, an ideal finish to any round. ⛳

🏅 The Green Acres Classic 2024 ⛳ The Green Acres Classic was a fantastic success, with perfect weather setting the stage for a closely contested tournament. Players battled until the final putt, showcasing tremendous skill and determination. Club President Rob Coxon praised the event, noting the strong participation and great atmosphere at the post-tournament dinner, which had around 120 people in attendance. With such positive feedback and growing prestige, the Green Acres Classic is a highlight on the club’s calendar, bringing members together for a memorable day of golf and celebration.
