headspace prioritises support, education and advocacy amid social media changes.   The government’s legislation to ban social media for young people under the age of 16 highlights a critical need to protect young people online—but regulation is just one piece of the puzzle. Social media plays a vital role in connection, expression, and accessing mental health support, especially for marginalised communities and those in rural areas. At headspace, we know building online safety requires support, education, and advocacy. In response to the ban, we’ve recently launched online resources to help young people and families navigate these changes. As a trusted source of support for young people and families, headspace remains committed to advocating for the inclusion of youth and family voices in the policy-making process while providing essential tools for mental health and wellbeing during this time. We're thrilled to join forces with The LAROI Foundation, working towards our shared vision of creating spaces and opportunities for young people to express themselves, grow artistically and connect with accessible mental health supports. To launch our partnership, we've collaborated on a limited edition, co-branded t-shirt which will be available to purchase online and at The Kid LAROI's November 2024 Australian tour. Four incredible young artists—Ashley, Jay, Siena, and Saffy—were selected through a national call-out and, with guidance from artist mentor Flossy, came together for a two-day workshop exploring themes of community and self-care. The result? A unique t-shirt design that embodies their creativity and vision.    Special thanks to The Push for hosting us and providing the ideal space for this creative journey! Net profits from this t-shirt will be donated to headspace, funding initiatives that support youth mental health. You can purchase the t-shirt here: https://bit.ly/3O99DLc To learn more about our partnership: https://bit.ly/4hNgaZx

There's a lot of talk in the media about social media's impact on young people. While it can be a great tool for community and keeping in touch, it's really important that young people are given the digital skills to navigate the online world safely. If you're an educator or someone who works with young people, check out our social media resource hub here: https://bit.ly/3Cc4tvu

Today it was a massive honour for our CEO Michael Schreiber to present the team at headspace a cheque for the biggest Day of Fun fundraising total ever at a whopping $346,926! Youth mental health is an issue close to all of our Motherfunner's hearts at Funlab, with our annual Day of Fun helping raise money for these causes with discounted activities across our brands. This year also saw us raise $55,000 for a range of partners internationally, working in New Zealand with the legends at Youthline and in the USA with SIMS Foundation in Austin, SF LGBT Center in San Francisco, The Center on Colfax in Denver and Southern Smoke Foundation in Houston! With a total of $400,000 raised worldwide, it's our biggest result ever for one of the most important day's on Funlab's calendar, that helps make the world better by having fun together!

As a leader in youth mental health, it’s vital that we continually evaluate our services to ensure they’re effective and appropriate for young people. This means listening to young people’s feedback and using what they tell us to inform and improve their care.      We recently explored the session experiences of over 16,000 young people who accessed support at a headspace centre to gain valuable insights and feedback on our services.    Swipe to read what we found ➡   To read more, visit https://bit.ly/3XZpa6j
