🌟 We are thrilled to finally spill the tea on an incredible project we’ve had in the works for a while now: the Ilan Style Fellowship! 🌟 With the profits from Ilan Style products, we are proud to support a fellowship at Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) for a Torres Strait Islander to work on a language revitalisation project. This fellowship includes financial support for travel to Canberra, access to AIATSIS facilities, assistance from the AIATSIS Access and Family History unit to access relevant collection materials, and sponsored attendance to the 2024 AIATSIS Summit in Naarm/Melbourne! We are beyond excited to be able to provide this opportunity for someone to contribute to revitalising and celebrating Torres Strait Islander languages. As we wrap up 2024, we’re feeling incredibly grateful for all the amazing moments this year has brought. Here are just a few highlights: 🏆 Best Collaboration Award at the Kinaway-The Victorian Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce Victorian Aboriginal Business Awards for our work with the amazing Haus of Dizzy! This partnership has been all about celebrating First Nations strengths and achievements, and the earrings were designed especially for Mabo Day. Thank you for being part of this journey with us. 🌟 Announcing our very first Ilan Style Fellowship Recipient Jessie Lloyd! Jessie is hard at work creating a song book of Meriam language songs as part of the Ilan Style Fellowship - a Torres Strait Islander language revitalisation program in partnership with Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS). 🌿 Collaborating with the incredible Yulaa-Li! Continuing the theme of collaboration, we've also loved teaming up with Yulaa-Li for our stunning Star Tea Infusers. ☕ Meeting so many of you at markets and events this year! Thank you for stopping by, having a cuppa, sharing stories, and supporting Ilan Style. Your love keeps us going. As we look ahead to 2025, we’re excited to continue to collaborate with other incredible First Nations businesses, fostering sustainability, and bringing you the teas and products you know and love (and maybe a little something new as well 👀). Thank you for being part of our journey – we couldn’t do it without you. Here’s to a bright and beautiful 2025! With love, The Ilan Style Team #IlanStyle #KnowBeDo #FirstNationsBusiness #Sustainability #Collaboration #EndOfYearReflection

It's important to remember to look after yourself this holiday season. Lucky the team at Karabena have put together some of their favourite holiday self-care tips!
However you choose to mark the holiday period, it is a wonderful opportunity to pause, reflect on the year that’s been, embrace the festive season, and rejuvenate for the year to come. Self-care is a priority for us at the Karabena Group. It is central to our work, as evidenced in our four-day work week policy. Self-care practices ensure we are always at our best for ourselves, our colleagues, our community, and the loved ones in our lives. We’ll be taking some time over the next couple of weeks to fill up our cups. Our team members have shared their tips for practising self-care and what they’ll be getting up to over the break. From the practical to the philosophical, our team has some top tips for making the most of the end to 2024, and springboard into 2025. Read more at https://lnkd.in/g88whqdK

✨ Excited to announce that to myself and Kerry Arabena won the Kinaway Chamber of Commerce Victorian Aboriginal Business Award! 🎉 As a proud Wiradjuri woman, this award is a reflection of the passion, dedication, and hard work we've poured into our businesses, and it's an honour to be recognised alongside Kerry, a true trailblazer in her own right. This recognition isn’t just for us – it’s for all First Nations women leading the charge in design, innovation, and entrepreneurship. We are at the forefront, and I am so proud to be part of a community that continues to break barriers and redefine what’s possible. A big shout-out to my incredible team at Haus of Dizzy, who support me every step of the way. Jasmine Ambarwati Irvine Renae Musu Ashleigh Santa-Isabel lucy pryke Joanne Lichti I'm also proud of my work in elevating First Nations voices through all aspects of our business. We were thrilled to win the Best Collaboration Award for our Mabo Day earring collab with Haus of Dizzy at the Kinaway-The Victorian Aboriginal Chamber of Commerce Victorian Aboriginal Business Awards on the weekend! The Best Collaboration Award celebrates the collaboration between two Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander owned businesses, and is a symbol of how united efforts can achieve great success and have lasting impact. We are honoured to share this award with the fabulous Haus of Dizzy. Being able to work with such a wonderful First Nations woman-owned business has been a highlight of our year. These earrings were designed to help celebrate and raise awareness about Mabo Day. As our founder Kerry Arabena is a proud Torres Strait Islander woman, the achievements of Eddie Mabo in his fight for land rights are particularly close to our hearts. Mabo Day is a day worth celebrating and we couldn't imagine a better partner to make it special than Kristy Dickinson and the team at Haus of Dizzy! Big thanks to the team at Kinaway for putting on an incredible night to honour the achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in business! And congratulations to the whole Ilan Style and Haus of Dizzy teams for their work on this collab - Kerry Arabena Kristy Dickinson Kate Kloeber Kim Reid Tess McArthur-Dowty Jasmine Ambarwati Irvine #IlanStyle #KnowBeDo #Kinaway #VABA2024 #HausOfDizzy #Collab #AwardWinners
