  • 🎧 Today is World Hearing Day! Let's Talk About Hearing Health 🎧 Hearing is something many of us take for granted—until we lose it. Today, on World Hearing Day, let’s reflect on the importance of protecting, managing, and prioritising our hearing health. Hearing loss affects over 1.5 billion people globally, and that number is expected to rise. Whether due to workplace noise, aging, or medical conditions, untreated hearing issues can impact communication, mental health, and overall quality of life. The good news? Most hearing loss is preventable! 💡 Here’s what we can all do: 🔹 Get your hearing checked regularly—especially if you work in noisy environments. 🔹 Protect your ears with earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones when exposed to loud sounds. 🔹 Reduce headphone volume (the "60/60 rule" helps: 60% volume for no more than 60 minutes at a time). 🔹 Support inclusive workplaces by ensuring accessibility for colleagues with hearing loss. Today is a great reminder that hearing health is part of overall well-being. Let’s start conversations, raise awareness, and take action. How do you protect your hearing, or how has hearing health impacted your life? Share your thoughts in the comments! 👂💙 #WorldHearingDay #HearingHealth #Inclusion

  • Inclusivity is Simple Yesterday I attended a networking event at a venue that had this sign - it was a nice reminder that when designing spaces there is an opportunity to include accessibility. Whilst I didn't choose to use this accessibility option yesterday, it was a welcome sign to know that someone had thought to include people like me. A big shout out to Deloitte in Adelaide for having an inclusive venue! • Did you know that the Microsoft Office products have a feature that allows you to ensure that your documents are accessible for people with disabilities? Next time you create a document for distribution, use the 'Check Accessibility' feature in the Review tab. Microsoft has used the internationally accepted standards for digital content accessibility to provide a review of your document and suggest updates. Being disability inclusive is not hard.... give this feature a go and make your document a little bit easier for everyone to read.
