Indo-Pacific Data-Sharing to Counter Regional Threats
About us
The Pacific International Center for High Technology Research (PICHTR) today announced its first Partnerships for Climate Technology (PaCT) program in Honolulu from February 5 to 6 at the Ala Moana Hotel. The PaCT program defines challenges, solutions, and acquisition pipelines for responses to and building resilience for natural and man-made disasters such as climate change. Unlike typical conferences, it offers customized engagements and itineraries and features coming-soon requirements through its breakout sessions and platform. PaCT will engage government, industry, and private capital providers from the U.S., Japan, Australia, and Pacific Island nations. The February 5-6 program focuses on building partnerships to understand the requirements and opportunities for data-sharing solutions that increase interoperability across the region.

It is great to see our CTO Jeremy Knopp help guide the leaders of tomorrow as he continues to deepen his relationships with #academic #institutions in #Japan and around the world. After leaving the Air Force Research Laboratory he is still very much devoted to supporting #research in #cuttingedge #dualusetechnologies, and helping #researchers find the funding they need to continue their critical work. We are very proud of his continued efforts to promote deeper collaboration between #academia, #industry, and #government. Keep up the great work Jeremy!
I just returned from a visit to the University of Yamanashi. I really want to thank Eri Hoshi for organizing the entire visit. Prof. Hiroshi Ishidaira for providing the opportunity to talk with Ph.D. students and faculty about Grant Proposals. Prof . Akihiro Iiyama introduced the #hydrogen and Fuel Cell Nanomaterials Center which was so impressive to me! Thank you Prof. Miki Suzuki and Prof. Sayaka Yamashita for your time and hospitality. Everything was wonderful. The title for the lecture I was asked to give was "The Secret Recipe of Writing a Grant Proposal in English". I remember 30 years ago when I worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken #kfc, I was always asked "what's the secret recipe?" So it's a very fitting title. It's actually my second visit to the University of Yamanashi this month. Earlier I attended the 21st US-Japan Seminar on Dielectric and Piezoelectric Ceramics in Kofu. It was one of the finest conferences I've ever attended and many thanks to Dr. Satoshi Wada and Prof. Shintaro Ueno for their leadership and all involved in organizing that excellent event. I look forward to many more engagements with University of Yamanashi. 私が依頼された講演のテーマは「英語で助成金提案書を書くための秘密のレシピ(’The Secret Recipe of Writing a Grant Proposal in English’)」というものでした。 Thank you for the translation support Erika Maekawa Armatus.ai 願わくは 我、インド太平洋の橋とならん #nanotechnology

It is great to see the U.S. Space Forces – Space (S4S) Brig. General Anthony J. Mastalir reiterating the importance of working with regional allied nations such as #Japan and #SouthKorea to maintain the #rulesbasedinternationalorder. We celebrate the continued emphasis on the need for allied collaboration in #defense operations and #defenseindustry across all #domains, #air #cyber, #land, #maritime, and #space. Working with our partners to support and strengthen these relationships is our (Armatus.ai) very reason for being. We hope that the #USgovernment and #USDOD will continue to promote the critical need to work with allied nations both regionally and globally into 2025 and beyond. https://lnkd.in/dK5rxbRk Mica Imamura, Frank Clark, Jeremy Knopp, Guy Boekenstein, Masahiko Kuwabara, Kristian Ryan, Erika Maekawa, Ian Kitajima, Keith Matsumoto, Pacific International Center For High Technology Research - PICHTR IndoPaCT

I'm not entirely sold on the idea of a ministerial, but I agree that some kind of defence officials' engagement would help to cohere the Quad's various maritime security and other defence-adjacent initiatives – and to coordinate/deconflict similar initiatives at the bilateral and trilateral level. There's more appetite for this in all four countries than commonly realised.
