💛 On International Human Rights Day and the final day of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, we stand with our communities. Kelly, from our Swan Hill office, recently joined the Mallee District Aboriginal Services 16 days of Activism morning tea, sharing: “No-one should feel alone at their most vulnerable. Raising awareness and offering support to those impacted by violence is the least we can do”. 💔 This year, 96 women have tragically lost their lives to violence. This sobering figure reminds us that action is urgent and ongoing. 🎉 We have had a fun week celebrating International Day of People with Disability! 👩🦽 From hosting an all abilities sports day in Mildura and bingo and music mornings in Corowa and Mulwala to attending community events in Kyabram, Shepparton, Albury and Sunbury, we have seen inclusivity at its best. Thanks to Basketball Victoria and Mildura Basketball for donating 20 wheelchairs for wheelchair basketball and the Boilover Performance Ensemble for sharing 'Heart Strings' with our Gisborne team at Sunbury Cobaw Community Health. 🙌 Shout out to those who are part of creating inclusive and diverse communities. #IDPWD2024 #IDPWD

💬 Gerri, one of our dedicated Child, Family, and Community Workers, recently attended the NSW Drug Summit in Griffith, where she shared her insights on sustainable community growth and the critical role of family support in tackling addiction. 📸 Pictured with NSW Minister for Health and Regional Health Ryan Park, Gerri joined experts from health, law enforcement, lived experience communities, and family advocates working towards solutions to improve community wellbeing and informing future health and safety policies. 💊 Key topics included early intervention for young people, reducing stigma around drug use, and the value of workers with lived experience in addiction recovery. “We emphasised the importance of supporting not only individuals struggling with addiction but also addressing the holistic needs of their families,” Gerri shared. “I am hopeful these discussions will lead to lasting change, especially in rural and regional areas.” #CommunitySupport #NSWDrugSummit #Griffith #StrongConnectedCommunities #Intereach #EarlyIntervention
