Last Friday, our team headed to Tamborine Mountain for our annual Christmas offsite – and it was nothing short of epic. Our first adventure took us to the Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk where we experienced walking through the rainforest on steel-structured and cantilever bridges, perched 300 metres above the ground. It was definitely a test to see who among us wasn’t afraid of heights. For the rest of the afternoon, we headed to the local winery and distillery for wine and gin tastings, followed by a well-deserved team lunch. As we savoured the delicious array of food and drinks, we kicked off our Dirty Secret Santa gift exchange. The quirky gifts and the thrill of stealing brought plenty of laughter and added a fun touch to our day together. And to wrap up the day, we made our way to the Scenic Rim for a group photo, marking the perfect end to a truly unforgettable day. But, of course, no celebration would be complete without our Annual Employee Awards. Congratulations to this year’s winners: 🔷 The Paul Rogers Deal of the Year Award: Michael Kakanis, PhD, CFA and Sharon Doyle for the EyeQ transaction. A well-deserved nod for all your hard work. 🔷 The Most Awesome Employee Award: Both Athanasia Christodoulou and Lucy Clarke came in tie, reflecting their incredible contributions and career development throughout the year. 🔷 The InterFinancial Values Award: Tahlia Micallef for living and breathing our core values every day. 🔷 The Fourth Award (a fun and humorous tradition): Also goes to Tahlia Micallef because when you’re that amazing, one award just isn’t enough! P.S. A big shout to our superstar Natalie Knight for organising the entire trip. So, there you go. Here’s to a year of joyful and memorable moments like these. From all of us at InterFinancial, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We’ll see you in 2025!

What happens when a giant economy starts shifting? For China, the impact of slowed growth, geopolitical tensions with the West and demographic shifts are sure to send ripple effects across capital markets and influence M&A activity in different industries. Here are the emerging key trends we’re seeing these past months: 🔷Sluggish IPO market with P2P (“public-to-private") buyout deals attracting interest 🔷️The property market crisis continues since the pandemic 🔷 In healthcare, Western MNCs are moving away from non-core assets, while both domestic and foreign players explore innovative therapies and joint venture collaborations 🔷 Tech and AI investments continue to attract strong interest, especially in the EV battery production space Our China Desk expert, Hongye (Jenny) Zeng, CFA reveals it all in her blog post, covering the measures and potential M&A opportunities over the next 6 to 12 months. Don’t miss her key insights! Link in the first comment below 👇
