We’re proud to help build intellectual property (IP) capacity in our neighbouring Indo-Pacific region. Recently we supported workshops for small businesses, including women entrepreneurs, in Indonesia and Vietnam to build their businesses with strategic IP use. The IP Management Clinics are part of the World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO Funds-in-Trust (FIT4) program, supported by a $2 million Australian Government funding commitment via Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. We’ve worked hard to build our reputation as an employer of choice. Each year, our staff participate in the APS Census and share their views on what it’s like working for us. We use that feedback to identify what we do well and areas where we can improve. This year we will focus on: • creating pathways to help people grow their careers • encouraging training and development in data skills and digital tools • using technology to find new ways to improve our work. The night of nights for top Australian exporters saw us again gather at Parliament House in Canberra for the big awards this week. After winning the State-level E-Commerce Exporter of the Year Awards, we were thrilled to be finalists, joining all other States. As always, wonderfully hosted by Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), the Minister for Trade and Tourism the Honourable Don Farrell, and expertly MC’d by David Koch. It was a privilege to represent Tasmania on such an important stage and reconnect with familiar faces and colleagues from across our State. Congratulations to all the finalists and the winners.
