About us
The Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) is the largest professional body for public sector employees in South Australia, representing almost half the workforce in this State. Established in 1927, we are non-political and not-for-profit, catering across the State, Federal and Local spheres of Government. Our core aim, with the help of our members, is to make the public sector in South Australia a great place to work and enjoy a varied career. IPAA offers the public Professional Development training courses, Membership, Event and Event Management, and In Agency. Our Professional Development courses are interactive incorporating a combination of theory, practice (real case studies) and review. IPAA has developed a range of Extended courses that bring together a number of topics related to a particular area of competency. Some courses provide successful participants a nationally recognised qualification. IPAA has earned a sound reputation for delivering quality training programs internally for public sector organisations. We can manage as much of the process as you need including speaker or facilitator sourcing and management, registration of participants, venue management, catering, assessment, certification and participant review. IPAA hosts a wide range of events on the issues and challenges facing public sector employees today and tomorrow through conferences, seminars, breakfasts, luncheons, workshops, round tables. Our event program is varied and designed to appeal to public sector employees across the three jurisdictions. An unbiased environment for the public sector to interact, collaborate and share knowledge. We have support from many long-term members and contributors and our independence means we can deliver un-biased information and learnings from across the jurisdictions. The SA Division of the Institute is managed by a Divisional Council, consisting of 7 elected and 2 nominated members.
