Look at those bridges launch! 🤩 Check out this fantastic overhead shot of two incrementally launched bridges from the M7-M12 Integration project, designed by our Sydney Bridge Team! One bridge spans 660 metres - one of the longest launched in NSW; and both were launched simultaneously, leading to this epic moment when their launch noses crossed paths. 👷🏽♀️ From building blocks to billion-dollar mega projects of the future 🙌🏽
Investing in the next generation of female constructors! 👷♀️ 👷♀️ John Holland’s M7-M12 Integration Project team is helping our next generation of female constructors get their hands busy and their hard hats ready this week, with support from the NSW Women in Construction Industry Innovation Program, which aims to inspire young girls and boys to pursue careers in #STEM while breaking down gender stereotypes. 💥 Free school holiday workshops at Stockland Wetherill Park Shopping Centre in western Sydney, along with primary school engagements are giving these children a taste of what it’s like to be a builder for a day! ⚒️ 🧰 🪛 They’re also learning from real-life construction workers and engineers about the contributions of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) careers. More than 600 children have joined in the fun already, which we think is a great way to celebrate International Education Day. 📒 💻 Here’s to seeing some of these faces on construction sites in the near future! #ItsAJohnHollandJob #JohnHolland #TransformingLives #FemaleConstructorsOfTheFuture #M7M12IntegrationProject #womeninconstruction John Holland Transurban Westlink M7 NSW Women in Construction Steve Kiddle, Stefanie Nutt

📺 Did you catch our very own M7-M12 Integration Project's engineering stars Stefanie Nutt and Steve Kiddle on the TODAY Show this morning as they helped the constructors of the future learn more about careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)? 👷🏾♀️ It's all part of our school holiday workshops in western Sydney supported by the NSW Women in Construction Industry Innovation program. 🚧 We can't wait to see more of these new faces back on the job one day soon! #JohnHollandTransformingLives #FemaleConstructorsOfTheFuture

🐍 Sssummer Sssafety at Melton Level Crossing Removal Project 🐍 This was one pre-start meeting that had everyone on their (steel-capped) toes! With worksss now underway at Melton it was timely to have a local snake handler attend a ssspecial pre-start meeting to talk about the types of snakes the team could potentially come across on the job. Venomous Tiger, Lowland Copperhead and Red Belly Black snakes were ssspecial guests along with a giant white python - which was happy to get up close and personal with some of the braver team members. The team was shown what to do - and what not to do - if they encountered a snake on site, how to best protect themselves with PPE, and how to correctly use a compression bandage if bitten by a snake. Here's to keeping everyone sssafe this summer! Level Crossing Removal Project #JohnHollandSummerSafety #ItsAJohnHollandJob

📢 Can I get a Hey Yeah for MidSumma Festival? The John Holland Pride Network is preparing for a big kick off to the 2025 Midsumma festival. Victoria's premier LGBTQI+ arts and culture celebration is held between the Wurundjeri seasons of High Summer and Late Summer, with most of the festivities occurring on the traditional lands of the Woi-wurrung/Bunurong peoples of the Kulin nation. 🏳️🌈 As active allies of our LGBTQIA+ community, and the 2024 Property Council of Australia Diversity and Inclusion Award winners, John Holland will participate in this year's festival as a standalone voice for improving diversity and inclusion in the construction industry. "I love this opportunity to come together for a common cause and share our stories," said Siavash Malek. "It's empowering to work for a company that celebrates diversity and LGBTQI+ inclusion," said Ben Crough. "I love the celebratory fun vibes and meeting likeminded people from across our business," said Fiona Bowie. 👷🏼♂️ Look out for the John Holland crew at Midsumma events from January 19 - February 9. 🤔 Did you know? Our partnership with The Supplies Mob on our M1 Pacific Motorway Extension to Raymond Terrace project has meant this newly-established Indigenous business has been able to significantly increase its employee numbers. Founded by proud Kamilaroi man Joel Singles, it's one of twelve Indigenous businesses that's a key partner on this project, supplying personal protective equipment (PPE), site consumables and cleaning products. Joel established The Supplies Mob just eighteen months ago and says the partnerships with the project have been pivotal to its growth. “The John Holland Gamuda Joint venture and Seymour Whyte Constructions don’t just see us as suppliers; they actively support the growth of Indigenous businesses, giving us opportunities to make a meaningful impact.” “At Wyong and Gosford Hospitals, we built outdoor areas for Indigenous families to gather and connect in a space that feels like home,” Joel shared. “We’re also planning a domestic violence refuge for women and children in my hometown of Quirindi, a project close to my heart.” #JohnHollandTransformingLives #JohnHollandAtHeart

🚧 Exciting project developments in 2025! 🚧 Construction activities are ramping up as we establish three key surface-level construction precincts along the alignment: southern, central, and northern. Starting in January 2025, we'll begin work in the southern precinct, followed by the central and northern precincts later this year. Here’s what that would look like: ✔️ Ground clearing and levelling ✔️ Installing site fencing and hoarding ✔️ Building essential site amenities ✔️ Relocating utilities #T2DProject #ConstructionUpdate

New Year, new reason to take parental leave? 🍼 This is the mini-me Cameron De Bono - our People Manager for Infrastructure (VIC/SA/TAS) - welcomed into the world in 2023. Griffin was six months old when Cam took primary carer leave which means he received 18 weeks paid leave to spend at home with his new son, as well as his young daughter Matilda. He's just one of the 73 men who took primary carer leave in 2024 - more than the number of women who applied for the same leave -and Cam says he was amazed by the support he got from leaders and team members. "I remember I was worried about the impact it might have on my team and what perceptions might be of taking this time off. "Our industry has come a long way, and I'm so thankful to have had this time to spend with my young family. It's such a great benefit John Holland offers - I got to spend time with both of my kids that I wouldn't have had otherwise," Cam said.
