Towards a carbon neutral future
About us
KC8 Capture Technologies Ltd (including subsidiaries UNO Technology Pty Ltd and KC8 Capture Services US), is a global technology company working to commercialise industry-leading carbon capture technology that provides hard to abate industries with an affordable and sustainable solution for a low-emission future. KC8 carbon capture technology is built on traditional carbon capture principles, and applied in a unique way. We use a solvent that’s derived from potassium carbonate, a naturally-occurring material that’s readily available all over the world. It’s safer, cheaper, and creates a more environmentally-friendly process from start to finish. Our technology can be easily installed on existing assets, empowering businesses to make real, meaningful change now, with no job losses, and no significant impact to the footprint of their sites.

In 2022, KC8 received a substantial grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to fund Phase 2 of the UNOGAS project. This crucial phase aims to demonstrate the commercial viability of the UNO MK3 technology by applying it to real-world gas combustion exhaust. 2025 is anticipated to be a pivotal year for KC8 and the UNO MK3 technology, with installation at the National Carbon Capture Center expected to be completed by March 2025. We had the honor of hosting a productive week at the November 2024 NCCC Project Review and Industrial Advisory Committee Meeting. Our sincere thanks go out to our project managers from the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management | U.S. Department of Energy and the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), as well as our private industry sponsors, for their participation and support. NCCC Director John Northington facilitated insightful discussions with energy leaders, highlighting the critical role of the NCCC in advancing a clean energy future. As a real-world test center, the NCCC is instrumental in transitioning emerging carbon management technologies from the laboratory to large-scale demonstrations and deployment. A special thank you to the technology developers who shared detailed results of their testing, including EPRI/Pacific Northwest National Laboratory/RTI International, SRI International, CORMETECH, KC8 Capture Technologies, ExxonMobil/Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and #NETL. These biannual meetings and site visits are essential for fostering innovation and collaboration. Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event a success. #CarbonCapture #CarbonRemoval #CarbonConversion #CCUS
